Hey everyone! This month I am participating in the Whats Up Nails Nail Art Challenge. I’ve really enjoyed this challenge in the past because it prompts you to use different techniques, rather than following specific design prompts.
The third prompt was dotticure, where you use a dotting tool or toothpick to create a mani featuring some sort of dots. Today I decided to recreate a mani from two years ago. Before I got into stamping I was all over floral dotticures so this was a blast from the past!
This mani contains products received in PR*
- For this manicure, I started by applying a peel off base coat (UNT Ready for Takeoff).
- For the base shade I used a yellow-y green crelly filled with gold glitters, Femme Fatale Flower Thickets. Because this shade has glitter I used a smoothing top coat (Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber) before proceeding.
- For the flowers and dots I used yellow and white stamping polishes (Whats Up Nails Fab Cab* and Blanc My Mind), but any polishes will do. To create the swirly rosettes I swirled the two shades together and then applied to the nail in a circular motion. For the regular flowers I just dotted on five or four dots for petals with either white or yellow. I finished off the rosettes with a few green leaves using Whats Up Nails The Other Side Stamping Polish* with a fine detail brush, Whats Up Nails Pure Color #10 Detail Brush*.
- To protect the design I used the Apipila Cosmeticos Smudge Free Nail Art Top Coat. I then added a glossy top coat, Vibrant Vinyls Fast & Hard Quick Dry Glossy Top Coat.
This mani is giving me all the Spring feels! I also loved doing the shade “Flower Thickets” justice with a floral mani!
