Hey everyone! After a very long break I am bringing back my series Palette Roulette, where I randomly select one eyeshadow palette to concentrate on using for one week. I have found in the past that this is a great way to rotate through palettes that don’t normally see much use and that have been forgotten among the sea of constant new releases.
For each Palette Roulette, I create 4-7 looks from that randomly selected palette. I will share these looks with you, tell you which shades I used and where, and my overall thoughts on that palette.
If you have missed any of my past Palette Roulettes, you can check them out here!
Below is my current list of palettes. To start off the relaunch of Palette Roulette, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera palette was selected by random number generator! If you haven’t read my more detailed original review, you can do so here.
The launch of Riviera was back when I purchased ABH palettes without question. I had always been a big fan of their formula, and I still am for the most part. When this palette first came out, I was very happy with it. It was a lot of fun to play with, especially during a dreary February. And now, it is again a breath of fresh air during quarantine boredom.
This palette is certainly a lot of fun where the colour scheme is concerned. It is an interesting mix of shades that lean more on the colourful rather than neutral side.
In this palette, there are five mattes, three pressed pigments, four metallics and two duochromes. I enjoy that there is a nice variety of finishes and plenty of mattes.
Below are four eye looks I came up with! Some are similar to the looks in my original review because I wanted to recreate them!

Final Thoughts
I haven’t used this palette since last summer and it is almost as good as I remember. I admit, as colourful as this palette is, I actually felt a little bit limited by the colour scheme. For me I felt like there were only three options for colour schemes in the crease to pair with the different metallics: peach pink or purple. There is the deeper brown but I wouldn’t typically create a crease starting off with such a deep shade. I admit, I wish there was one more neutral matte, so that you can pull off a neutral crease with any of the colourful metallics.
As for performance, all of the metallics were very beautiful. They adhere well to a tacky base, and I especially love them with a glitter glue. The pressed pigments were a little less pigmented than I expected. I do remember saying that they weren’t incredible in my original review, but they also could have less impact now that they are a year old. But it is 100% possible to get full pigmentation if you apply the mattes on unset concealer.
Overall, still a very fun and solid palette! I enjoyed revisiting it thoroughly. Again, if you haven’t read my original review it can be found here.
I love the purple look, I have to use the palette again, I’ve kind of forgotten about it

Riviera is such a beautiful palette! That bright pink look at the end has all the summer vibes. Also I love how much GREEN there is behind you in your outdoor photos! We have no leaves on trees yet, and there’s still snow everywhere.

Yess! That is one of my favourite looks I’ve done from that palette! It has been an exceptionally nice Spring so far. 15 degrees and sunny most days for the last week and will be that way for another week. I’ve begun tanning! The earliest start I’ve ever had! lol.

15 degrees sounds heavenly right now. We’re still in that weird period where I have no idea if I should wear my winter coat or a leather jacket, and if I need boots or shoes haha. Yay for a tan!

It is so strange how drastically different the weather can be day to day in Alberta!
