Hello everyone! Oh boy. What should have been a home run in terms of holiday kits has turned out to be a major disappointment for me! Sigh, the Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse set. The only holiday item I have had any interest in. Well, I purchased it, and back it will go. Why? Let’s get into it
Packaging and First Impressions
This five mini gloss set comes in a beautiful tin. Inside, you have your five glosses that look like miniatures of the original Gloss Bomb packaging.
In this kit you get a range of nudes and brights, four of which are brand new shades to the gloss line. Fu$$y is the only existing shade that is included in this set. All of the glosses have the same scent as found in the originals, which can only be described as candy-like or fruity. Yum!

Price and Quantity
This gloss set is priced at $56 CAD ($42 USD) and comes with 0.9 oz of product. Each gloss has 0.18 oz of product, which is actually kind of remarkable since that is more than even some full-sized glosses have. The regular size has 0.3 oz for $24 CAD ($18 USD), so comparatively, this gloss set actually has really great value.
Pigmentation and Performance
I’m going to keep this short, because this is where things go downhill. But first, an aside of the original Gloss Bomb formula.
I cannot stop wearing the original Fenty Gloss Bombs. Their formula is by far my favourite I have ever tried. And what proves this is the fact that I have now finished two full-sized tubes of the shade “Fenty Glow”, and I am about to finish my first tube of “Fu$$y”. I seriously wear these non-stop. The formula is very hydrating and very shiny! Plus, they smell amazing and you get a ton of product! It doesn’t get much better than that…
HOWEVER, the new shades in this set are absolutely packed with glitter. The shade confetti is the least worst of the new shades, but they almost all have a very gritty texture on the lips because of the glitter. I also noticed that the consistency was a bit thicker, and that is also likely because of how much glitter is in these new shades. The original gloss formula is so nice, with a really smooth shimmer. These are chunky. And while the sparkle looks great on the lips, and it doesn’t look too bizarrely glittery, I find them very uncomfortable. I have sensitive and dry lips to begin with, so to feel that gritty texture is very unpleasant and every time I wear these I am literally picturing microtears happening on my lips because of the harsh glitter. Another negative is that once the gloss wears off, your lips are COVERED in glitter. It’s just a big mess in my opinion, and that’s why I simply can’t recommend these.
Even though I do not like these glosses, I took some lip swatch photos to show you how beautiful they look. If you don’t think the gritty texture will bother you, then you might really like the selection of shades you get in this kit. I would have!
Pretty Please
Fu$$y
Confetti
Hot Chocolit
Cheeky
Final Thoughts
Overall, I am so deeply saddened by this! I knew I was going to love this kit, and then it arrived, packed with glitter. The shades look really pretty on, but I just cannot stand the feeling of them. I can only hope that Fenty will continue to add shades to the full-sized line that have the normal shimmer formula instead of these super glittery ones.
Wow, that does have an excessive amount of glitter!

And I mean, I don’t think it looks like too much on the lips. They actually look really pretty. But in terms of the texture, definitely too much glitter!

🙂 I think they look really pretty – in the container as well as on your lips.
But I hate sticky and too glittery on my lips, so I understand why you are returning them.
Have a HAPPY weekend!
Claudia 🙂
N.B.: Thank with the help regarding the stencils. I just ordered a set! 😉

Confetti looks a bit like Diamond Milk, I wonder why that wasn’t included in the set and why they created such a similar shade? Is the Fu$$y in this set not at all like the regular size which you mention you’re almost finished?

Yeah, Diamond Milk is the only one I haven’t tried so I’m not sure how they are different! Fu$$y is exactly the same as the original. That’s the only one in this set that is normal.

Gritty glitter = big nope! Too bad because this was one of the only holiday sets I am interested in. I think I might just get either Fenty Glow or Fu$$y because I haven’t tried any of the Fenty balms!

I am so surprised because the Sephora page is filled with glowing reviews! Who can put up with that texture on their lips?! I love love the Fenty glosses! You need to try them!

Wow, these sounds totally awful! Who the hell wants gritty lip glosses??

I don’t know! I also have no idea why this set has so many positive reviews on Sephora!

That’s very puzzling. But everyone is so ga-ga over anything from Fenty it’s not surprising.

It’s too bad that they’re too gritty because they look really nice. But I understand how uncomfortable that is. Such a bummer.

Oh no!! What a shame 😦 I would have loved to get this set. I’ve had my eye on these glosses ever since reading your very first review on them. The different shades all look super gorgeous on your lips but, the gritty texture would not work for me either. I don’t blame ya for returning them!
