Hello everyone! Today I have swatches of the full Zoya Sensual Fall 2019 collection. I’m going to start this off by telling you this might be my favourite collection yet! But I also might be biased… Fall is my favourite season and this collection really speaks to me. Fall feels for sure!
About Zoya
Zoya polishes are 10 free, meaning that they are formulated without formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor, THPH, parabens, xylene, ethyl tosylamide or lead. Their polishes are also safe for pregnant women, are breathable and vegan!
My thoughts on the Zoya Formula
Overall, I really enjoy the Zoya formula. The most impressive quality of Zoya nail polishes is the opacity of their lighter cremes. Often “skin-coloured” or lighter cremes require at least two if not three coats to reach full opacity. Zoya’s lighter cremes are almost fully opaque with ONE coat. That is incredible! So clearly the pigment is there. And this rings true for most of their other shades as well. In terms of wear, I find that the Zoya formula is chip resistant until you hit around the 4-5 day mark, which is pretty typical, if not a bit better than typical.
In terms of the brush, it is a bit thinner than I would like, but they do now offer a wider brush called the Z-Wide Brush which can be purchased separately for $2 each.
Zoya Sensual Fall 2019
“…ranging from contemporary neutrals to desirable darks. Sensual beautifully implements traditional autumn shades with a variety of finishes.”
Joss
Joss is a light beige rose with a creme finish. Zoya always includes nudes in their collections and this is one of my favourites. I like that it has more beige in it, and it almost looks like it is leaning on the mauve side. This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Joey is lighter and more of a baby pink, Zoya Mia is more of a true pink, Zoya Agnes is paler and more dusty, and Zoya Carson is more beige.
Kinsley
Kinsley is a light caramel nude with a creme finish. This is one of the things that I am loving about this collection, more brown nudes! This is such a beautiful natural nude brown. I can see myself wearing this a lot this Fall! This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Carson with lighter and more beige with pink, Zoya Keira is more taupe with a shimmer.
Foster
Foster is a deep chocolate brown with a creme finish. This is a deliciously rich shade. I think hot chocolate is the perfect descriptor! This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Kateri is deeper and cooler.
Briar
Briar is a muted terracotta red with a creme finish. This is a unique shade that is a nice delicate alternative to a bolder red. This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Liza is brighter and more of a cherry red, Zoya Vanessa is deeper with more fuchsia.
Margaret
Margaret is a bright classic red with a creme finish. This might actually be my favourite red that I have tried from Zoya so far! I love that it is so balanced between warm and cool. This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Carmen is brighter with more orange, Zoya Alyssa is deeper and cooler.
Rashida
Rashida is a medium red with a red pearl. I love Zoya’s pearl shades. They are delicate, yet sparkly. I mean, look at that macro shot! The tone of this shade makes me think of the perfect apple! This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Ash is more metallic with more fuchsia, Zoya Everly has more dimensional sparkle and is lighter.
Etta
Etta is a deep wine with a purple pearl. This is such a beautiful vampy shade, it literally has me drooling. The pearl really makes it special too. This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Jem is deeper and cooler, Zoya Payton is a truer purple with more dimensional sparkle.
Ripley
Ripley is a warm boysenberry purple with a creme finish. When I first saw this shade, I thought that Zoya had come out with a similar one in each of the last couple of collections, but I was wrong. This is really quite a unique purple that is fun for the Fall season! This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Rie is lighter and more pink, Zoya Evette is deeper and cooler.
Michaela
Michaela is a dusty heather purple with a creme finish. Yum, this is one of my favourite shades for Fall. And again, so unique. I don’t think I have anything even remotely similar to this shade! This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Joni is lighter and more mauve purple.
Vesper
Vesper is a dusty deep periwinkle with a creme finish. How many times can I say a shade is unique? Well here we are again. This is definitely one of my favourite shades from the collection as well. There’s something appropriate about dusty shades during the Fall! This shade looked best with two coats.
Elliot
Elliot is a deep navy with a creme finish. Navy isn’t a shade I wear often, but I actually really love it with a matte top coat! I think I will be trying this one next! This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Ryan is slightly deeper and more of a true navy.
Ashton
Ashton is a gunmetal grey with a silver glitter. Wow is this blingy! I love when Zoya releases these showstopper shades. It doesn’t happen very often, so that makes it extra special when it does. I think I can announce definitively that this is my favourite shade out of the entire collection. Won’t it be fun for Halloween mani’s too? This shade looked best with two coats.
Similar shades: Zoya Theo is a lighter medium grey with irregular pieces of white and black flakes.
Thoughts on the Sensual Fall 2019 Collection
This is 100% my favourite collection from Zoya thus far. The brown nudes matched with the berries and delicious vampy shades? What more could you ask for? As usual, the formula seems very consistent with other collections. Overall, I can’t wait to use each and every shade from this collection! For the first time ever, I have also made a swatch video of all the shades from this collection, so check that out below!
