The Mani X Me Monthly Box is a subscription service that delivers you Maniology nail art goodies every month. There are two different options: The Monthly Club and the Express Kit.

Monthly Club ($25 USD per month)

  • 2 Exclusive Stamping Plates – Just for members!
  • 2 New Coordinated Stamping Polishes
  • A Surprise Gift Every Month
  • Free U.S. Shipping
  • Free Stamper & Scraper Set with your first express kit

Express Kit ($18 USD per month)

  • 2 Exclusive Stamping Plates – Just for members!
  • A Surprise Gift Every Month
  • Free U.S. Shipping
  • Free Stamper & Scraper Set with your first express kit

I am currently getting the Express kit since the only difference is that you don’t get the stamping polishes, and I’m mainly interested in building up my stamping plate collection! With shipping ($4 USD to Canada), in CAD the price turns out to be just over $30 CAD.

So let’s get into this latest box!

May: Life’s a Beach

We’re taking you under the sea this month by getting you in touch with your inner mermaid. This Mani X Me box is full of booty-shaking treasure for an unforgettable summer set.

This month’s express kit comes with two under-the-sea-worthy stamping plates featuring everything from mermaids to fish and and seaweed, and a super fun cuticle clean up brush with suspended multi-coloured stars in the handle.

Mani #1

For whatever reason, May’s manis were all inspired by colour combinations. For the first manicure I decided to go with a peach and blue theme, featuring Cirque Colors Hygge as the base polish. This is a beautiful light blue with a copper shimmer, and as always a holographic sparkle, which is what makes Cirque polishes so special. I then used the reverse stamping technique to colour in and add a sea anemone, a jellyfish (don’t be jelly!) and a full scalloped nail, all with hints of pink and blue. What reverse stamping means is that you transfer the pattern from the plate onto your stamper with a polish shade that you want to be your outline, and then you fill in the design with different polish colours directly on the stamper. After that has dried, you can then stamp the whole pattern onto your nail.

Mani #2

For this second mani, I thought a combination of pink and purple would be very cute. When I saw the little mermaid-esque designs on the MXM008 plate, and the little seashells, the theme was confirmed! Again, the base shade is another gorgeous Cirque Colors shade, Cloud Nine, and I used reverse stamping to create the shell and bubble designs.

Mani #3

For the third and last mani, I was craving some sort of a blue ombre. I was just itching to use the wave designs! This time the base is a slight ombre of KL Polish Dream Boy, St. Clair and Porter Miami, with a metallic blue tip, KL Polish Matanzas. I used reverse stamping to create the wave designs.

Final Thoughts

When I saw that May’s kit was ocean themed, I mean how could I resist? I have two Biology degrees, both of which centered around Marine Biology topics, so I have to say I am a sucker for anything marine! As usual, I love the variety of designs the plates provide. Really, it feels as if I could create endless different manicures with these plates! And while I’m not a fan of mermaids (a bit overdone for me by this point), there are so many other designs to use!

Have you ever tried stamping or thought about getting into it? Have you tried Maniology products before? Let us know!

Disclaimer: I am a Maniology Ambassador (use code SUPERNOVA10 for 10% off your Maniology purchases), however, I purchase this kit every month with my own money and I am definitely not trying to sell you anything. Ambassador codes do not work with this subscription service, however they can be put towards other products, should you want to save some money and support a small scale blogger who puts a lot of money into content.
