Hey everyone! July already? Only two months left of Summer? The passage of time never seems to make sense to me😅
For the month of June I really Natasha Denona’d out. I purchased way too many of her products, and guess what, I loved all of them. So two of her eyeshadow palettes are featured here, since they are basically all I used, plus an oldie and two other new goodies (one of which is affordable, gasp)!
Yum yum yum, this palette is so deliciously pigmented and bright! I actually just posted a full review with four looks yesterday, so definitely go check that out if you want all the details. The essence of the review is that I really enjoy this palette. The mattes are very pigmented and blend quite easily. The metallics include different types of formulas, some which I love, and others that aren’t amazing but are still very workable. Regardless, I have had so much fun playing with this palette so far, and I am loving this new smaller size!
Because I was working a more conservative job for the last two months, I decided to splurge and get a more luxury all-neutral palette, since I figured I would be using it a lot. I like that this palette includes different variations of neutrals: warm/neutral browns, red browns and some cooler greys. So far I am loving ND’s creamy matte formula. The cream to powder formula is new to me, and I don’t totally love it, but I haven’t used it enough to have formed a complete opinion. As it is, this palette provides a great library of neutrals for a variety of looks and the pigmentation is great. The metallics in this palette are very nice too and have a bit of a sparkle to them!
Recently I ran out of my favourite contour powder, “Princess Cut” in the Tarte Park Ave Princess Chisel Palette. Since then I had ordered a mini of the Kevin Aucoin contour powder because I had heard so many people rave about it over the years, but it was just way to cool for my summer skin tone right now. So I set out to find a dupe for the Tarte shade, and this bronzer by Sephora Collection is pretty darn close! From the moment I applied it, it just looked right! It’s not a super warm bronzer, really it’s comparatively cool, but definitely not as cool as the Kevin Aucoin one. Other than the perfect shade, this bronzer is so nice, and the price at $21 CAD is pretty darn nice too! It blends perfectly and has a good amount of pigment! Not too much, but is very buildable! If you are looking for a cheaper bronzer, I would totally recommend this one!
Surprisingly, I can’t stop reaching for this bronzer! When I first purchased it and reviewed it, I loved it and I still do. But I also mentioned that it is pretty golden, and that as I get more tanned, I prefer to reach for more red-toned bronzers. Well that just doesn’t seem to be happening this year! I can’t stop using this one. There’s just something about this shade that looks so good with my tan. And as previously mentioned, the formula of this bronzer is so so good. You can check out my original review here!
This might be my ultimate blush shade. Warm Honey is a muted bronzed rose that is just so perfect for any kind of look. I love both the matte and shimmer sides, and since it is the summer I have definitely been indulging in the shimmery side more. Gotta love that glow! Both sides have good, buildable pigmentation, and they blend really nicely. I can 100% see myself purchasing more of these blushes in the Winter when I am paler. I am particularly interested in the Soft Peach and Mojave Mauve, but Pink Dahlia looks so pretty too! But with my current skin tone, I really don’t think it gets better than Warm Honey!
And here are some swatches!
Well that’s it for my June Fave Five!
