Hey everyone! Happy Easter! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday weekend filled with food, friends and family! I personally will be having a very chill day, making some scalloped potatoes and going to dinner with my Dad’s side of the family.
As you know, I can never resist a themed holiday, so this time around I have created a colourful pastel makeup look for Easter, as well as two themed manis!
Easter Eye Look
Since the weather started getting better, all I have wanted to do is play with colour. So for today’s look I thought why not do a colourful, pastel look using classic Easter colours: purple and yellow. This is a colour scheme I have only done once before, and I am loving this newest rendition!
For this look I used a mixture of shadows in my collection: some matte purple singles from Colourpop and some yellow and purple shimmers from the Violet Voss Flamingo Eye Shadow palette. This is a palette that I am really wanting to dive in to more after a long hibernation. I am thinking that I next want to do a Palette Bingo with it! I also have a full review on this palette here, including 6 different eye looks!
The shades I used are:
- Colourpop “Two to Mango”
- Colourpop “Howlin'”
- Colourpop “143”
- Violet Voss Flamingo “Bikini”
- Violet Voss Flamingo “Pineapple”
I created this look on a set base using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. To accomplish this look I used the following shades:
- I first applied CP Two to Mango to the crease and lower lash line. This is a light pinky purple lilac that has good pigmentation and doesn’t come off chalky even though it is so light! There is definitely some pink in this shade compared to CP Howlin’.
- To add some cooler purple I applied CP Howlin’ to the crease. This is a cool lavender purple that also has really good pigmentation. In fact, the pigmentation is a bit better than Two to Mango. I probably didn’t need to use both shades for this look, but they did look good together!
- To deepen up the outer corner and crease I used CP 143. I also added this shade to the outer lower lash line. This is a deeper lilac that has quite a bit of pink in it, so the finished result of this look is perhaps a bit more pink than I would have liked, but it was what I had to work with! This is a great CP shade though, and is very highly reviewed.
- After cutting the crease with a white concealer I applied VV Pineapple to the inner corner and inner lid. Pineapple is the most gorgeous true yellow shimmer. It is definitely my favourite yellow metallic in my collection!
- Lastly, I added VV Bikini to the center and outer areas of the lid. This is a pretty cool purple metallic with blue shimmers. Using these two VV shades has renewed my interest in this palette, and I can’t wait to use it more!
- Because more is more, I decided to add the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in “Pyro” to the crease and the lower lash line.
To finish off the look I used the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in “Nude” on the water line and applied the Ardell Faux Mink lashes in the style “812”.
Overall, I’m totally in love with how this look turned out! Who knew yellow and purple could actually be a really pretty combination?! Sure, they are complimentary colours, but those combinations don’t always look amazing on the eyes.. Anyways, I lucked out!
Two Easter Mani’s
For this first mani I wanted to do a nude pink mani with pops of colourful Easter eggs. Unfortunately one of the pink stamping polishes I used bled really badly, even when I used the Maniology No Smudge Top Coat, so some of the eggs do have a blurry effect. I should have suspected this would happen since the same polish bled during one of my Valentine’s manicures. I am going to be throwing that shade out promptly! Regardless, I still think the mani looks nice, and even with the messy blur effect, I think it is still on theme with perhaps dyeing eggs on Easter!

I knew you were going to be doing a festive Easter look, and you did not disappoint, haha! Love both the eye and nail looks, they’re so fun! Too bad that neon pink smudged, but the look is still gorgeous!

Haha thank you! It’s always disappointing to do nail art and then have it ruined in the last step, but they still turned out pretty nice!
