Hey everyone! Even though it’s almost half-way through March, I still want to share with you some of my favourite products from February! This time around I have a little bit of everything to share, new makeup, long-time makeup loves, and skin care!
So let’s get into it!
Clinique Cheek Pop™ On-The-Glow Trio Palette
This was a palette I ordered immediately upon release. For a while now I had been wanting to purchase more of the Clinique Cheek Pop blushes, but I unfortunately missed out on the blush palette that was released around Christmas. So I jumped on this face palette! It includes a highlighter, blush (Ginger Pop from their existing line) and a bronzer. As far as I know, highlighters and bronzers do not already exist within the Cheek Pop line.
I have been really loving this palette, however, the highlighter does practically nothing. Both the bronzer and blush are beautiful, buildable, and blend so easily. The formula is very much a cream-to-powder, and has a satin finish. I pretty much use this palette every day because I love them so much. Because the highlighter really doesn’t do anything as a “highlighter”, I use it as a blush topper to add a tiny bit of radiance. It’s too bad all the products aren’t great, but the bronzer and blush make up for it in my opinion, and at least I’ve found a way to use the “highlighter”.

As you can see, I have definitely used this palette a lot as I have made quite the dent in the daisy imprints!
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer
Recently with this cold winter weather I had started getting really dry under eyes, so I decided to try out some different concealers to see if that could help. I tried the First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Bendy Avocado Concealer and the Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Full Coverage Concealer Fluid. Neither were better than this Tarte concealer that I have been using for years! This realization has renewed my love for this concealer. For at least a year now I had been using facial oil on my under eyes before concealer application, but for some reason it just wasn’t working for me anymore, and was making my under eyes almost look drier! Since removing this step from my routine, this concealer is looking bomb again! What I love most about this concealer is that it has good coverage, around medium, and it is quite thin so it doesn’t cake up. You also get a ton of product.
Pixi Beauty Rose Ceramide Cream
About two months ago I received a PR package from Pixi Beauty with their full rose-infused line of skin care (which I will be reviewing in full within the next week or so). This face cream worked out very well for me! It is definitely on the thicker side, and is very nourishing. I used it night and day, and I never got any dry patches despite the cold weather, and it worked great under makeup! I highly recommend! Although, I haven’t been able to find it at any of my stores locally, so I haven’t actually been able to find the price in CAD and haven’t had the opportunity to repurchase, which I would seriously consider, depending on the price. Also, the scent is heavenly! It is floral with a bit of citrus.
Pixi Beauty Rose Caviar Essence
This is another product that came in that PR package, and I have been loving using it during my day time routine. This is a product that is essentially a jelly serum that has bits of flower oil suspended in it. Once applied to the skin it blends in really easily and makes it feel extra moisturized, which is great for under makeup. This product is perfectly fine for the evening too, I have just been using their Rose Oil Blend at night instead!
The ingredients in this product also seem especially good since they start with water and glycerin, followed by a ton of different natural oils (bergamot, ylang-ylang, palmarosa, geranium, sunflower, jojoba and grape seed oil to name a few). Good-for-you ingredients like these oils most often fall at the end of the ingredients list, indicating pretty low concentrations in the actual formula. In this case the oils start at the third ingredient spot, so I am impressed! Also, this serum has a similarly delicious scent as the cream mentioned above.
Covergirl Get In Line Liquid Eyeliner “320 Major Matte Black”
This is an eyeliner that was sent to me by Influenster, but I never ended up reviewing it because it arrived after that campaign had already ended. I have since quit Influenster because the e-mail spamming was unreal (I was getting AT LEAST one e-mail a day and it was driving me insane), but some casual testing of this eyeliner has revealed it to be the most matte eyeliner ever! Most of my favourite liquid eyeliners are just not as matte as I would like, but this one is incredibly matte. It doesn’t come in pen form, but like the more old school eyeliners that come with a handle. The tip itself seems to be a piece of silicone or something, that you re-dip if you need more product. I haven’t actually tried doing a wing with this liner, but it is fantastic for going across the lash line. I actually notice it feeling a little tight on my eye right after application, because it does dry down so matte, but that feeling goes away pretty quickly and it doesn’t crack or anything. So far I think this is a great drugstore option!
Well that’s it for my February Fave Five!
What were your favourite products of the month? Have you tried any of these? Comment down below!
Disclaimer: A few of these products were sent to me for review (as mentioned above). As always, all of my opinions expressed here are never solicited and are entirely my own. I didn’t want to exclude the products that were sent to me from my fave five just because they were sent to me, since I truly am enjoying them!
Nice post, that eyeliner by covergirl looks tempting, I am happy they are finally cruelty-free. I really want to try more products by PIXI, that jelly serum seems nice!

I really want to start trying the Clinique Cheek Pops! They’ve been on my wish list for years but I haven’t bought any yet! What are your favourite shades?

Have you found the perfect drugstore eyeliner yet? I know you’ve been on the search for a while now. The only Cheek Pop shades I have are Pansy Pop and Ginger Pop and I love them both! Pansy is a pinky purple and Ginger is a coral.

I know you said you didn’t like it, but I really enjoy the NYX Epic Liner! I’ve gotten some really good recommendations including the Sephora one that I think you recommended, as well as this CoverGirl one, so I think I’m slowly going to give them all a try!

Well darn lol. Maybe I did get a bad one. I’m currently trying the NYX matte liner and it seems good but not as matte as the CG one
