Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well. Today I want to share with you my top 5 favourite products from November…even though it is more than halfway through December. I feel like the trademark of the holiday season is feeling like you are constantly behind, and I am certainly feeling that way where my blog is concerned. The 12 Days of Nailmas certainly took up some time, but I am so glad I did it. It was a fun self-challenge.
Anyways without further ado, here are some of my favourite products from the month of November!
Pat McGrath Labs MTHRSHP Sublime: Bronze Temptation Eyeshadow Palette
This is an extra boujee palette that I purchased with my Sephora Rouge $100 reward. I don’t usually spend so much money on eyeshadow palettes, especially on only a 6 pan palette, so I took my chance with the reward! And it really did pay off. Of all the holiday palettes PML released, I knew that this one would be the most wearable, and I’m a sucker for the Christmas-y shades. The formula in this palette is really nice and easy to work with. The mattes are pigmented and blendable for sure, and the metallics have great impact. For my first experience with PML, I am very happy! You can check out my full review and some eye looks here!
One thing I did do was drop the palette only a few days after getting my hands on it and I lost maybe 1/4 of the green shade, which was a pity since that was one of the shades that I was the most excited about. Can you imagine dropping a $70 eyeshadow palette? I was likely close to a heart attack at the time…
Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter
Since this highlighter was being brought back for December I decided to dig it out again. The shade is a lighter, brilliant gold so I didn’t use it much during the summer when I was quite tanned. Now that that tan is starting to fade, I have discovered it again and I am totally in love. This highlighter can be extremely metallic, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your personal tastes. But it all depends on the brush you use. I have found that I am very happy with this highlighter lately when I use a brush that diffuses the pigmentation more, rather than packing it on. This highlighter is so bright that it really don’t need to be packed on, so I have been using the Smith Cosmetics 104 Fan Brush, which diffuses colour beautifully. It also makes a huge difference if you use a setting spray to finish off your look and melt the powders into your skin.
Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter “Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby”
This is another highlighter that I put on pause earlier this year. When I first bought this after it was released, I was obsessed and basically didn’t use anything else. Surprisingly, I was the most enamoured with the more subtle side, “Mean Money”. You will see below I have massive pan in it. But now I have discovered that I am loving “Hu$tla Baby”! And it’s literally because of that Smith 104 brush again. It just applies more intense highlights so nicely.
Clinique Cheek Pop “Pansy Pop”
This is another product that has seen increasing use because of my fading tan. Something that I love is a purple blush. Sound weird? It’s just so brightening, and it is a nice cool-toned option to match any cooler-toned eye look without going for a plain pink. During the summer when I am tanned and my skin tone is warmer, it just seems weird to reach for such a cool-toned product, so I am so excited to get a lot more use out of it now. I also just totally love the Clinique Cheek Pop formula. I really would like to purchase more of them. I don’t know what’s special about them, other than the fact that they aren’t powdery, and they are quite affordable for a high-end product. I just like them!! Clinique actually released a Cheek Pop palette for the holidays but I missed out on it! Wah.
Here are some comparison swatches of the highlighters and the blush to give you an idea of what it looks like.Ā
Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadows “D712” and “M842”
I purchased this eyeshadow duo on sale at the IMATS Vancouver show with the intention of using it for two-shadow eye looks and it has really worked out for me! I was really taking a chance since I wasn’t sure if the wine shade would be able to be built up to a deep enough depth, but it really is, and it blends and builds up really quite easily. The sparkly gold shade is a very pretty staple as well. Overall, I think this is a great little palette to travel with and I love creating berry looks with it on the daily!
Well thatās it for my November Fave Five!
That Pansy Pop shade is stunning! Just love a gorgeous bright pink to wake up my cheeks. Love your picks!

The Clinique Cheek Pops are awesome! I used to have the shade Melon Pop, which was great for the summertime. The formula really clung to the skin and didnāt fade halfway through the day like most other blushes do.

Melon pop has been the shade I have been more tempted by!

Itās a great one, and I find it stains the cheeks in a very agreeable way.

I feel you on the palette dropping. I went to use one of my Lorax highlighters last week and saw a small piece had broken off, which was weird. I went to dump it in the trash and the WHOLE THING fell out! WTAF?! I was so mad because I loved that highlighter. Luckily I didnāt pay full price for it as I got it during an Ulta 21 Days Of Beauty thing. But if I want to replace it Iāll have to pay full price. š©

I love how festive your photos are! It hurts my soul a little bit that you lost some of the green shade in your Pat McGrath palette, that’s the worst! I was so upset when I dropped my soft glam and ruined all the shimmers š¦
That Fenty highlighter is really pretty!

It happened the month after I bought it, I was carrying it back downstairs to the bedroom and I dropped it down the stairs. I’m now much more careful when storing my makeup!

Omg no wonder it got so destroyed!

Yeah it’s my own fault really š Unfortunately I learned the hard way that ABH shimmers don’t always repress the same way. They’re kind of crusty now

Oh no.. did you use alcohol to repress them? If you did, I wonder if that took out some of the moisture since they are usually pretty creamy

I did yes. I’ve never had it not work before š¤ They have a much different formula than most brands so I must have ruined it somehow. Either the alcohol or maybe I pressed it too hard. ABH please send me a new one! š
