Hello everyone! I CANNOT believe it is almost November!!! I’m simultaneously in shock and kind of excited… It’s so strange to think that the holidays are coming up, but that is always a fun time of year. God knows there have been a billion makeup releases, with only more to come. But, for the month of October five products have really been wowing me, so let’s get into them!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked is one of their newest palettes that is limited edition. I was really sad last year because I missed out on their holiday palette, so I jumped on this one immediately, and I am so glad I did! What makes this palette different is that it is their first ever vegan palette and 5% of profits from the sale of this palette support the Nonhuman Rights Project. As you may have noticed, these powders do not have the typical swirl of Hourglass powders, because they are meant to be more pigmented, and I really think this is true! My favourite powder in this palette is the bronzer, but all of them are really nice and very buildable. I have basically used this palette every day since I purchased it.
Colourpop Good Sport Eyeshadow Palette
Out of all my palettes this has been the one that I have been reaching for the most this month. The Colourpop formula is almost always great quality, and this palette is pretty on par with the rest of them. The metallics, however, seem even better than usual! When it comes down to it though, it’s really the colour selection that has me the most interested. Here’s hoping Colourpop can continue with interesting colour stories in the future! If you want to see some of my looks with this palette, you can check them out here.
Zoya Element 2018 “Rachel”
This month Zoya was extremely generous and sent me their Element Fall 2018 Collection to review, which includes a beautiful selection of blush tones, blues, reds and purples. Rachel in particular has been one of my favourites, as it is the perfect vampy shade for Fall! Sometimes vampy shades can lean so dark that you can’t even tell if they have a colour or are just black. This one is the perfect shade of deep purple!
Urban Decay Naked Cherry Collection Vice Lipstick “Cherry”
In the beginning, I didn’t think that I was interested in anything from the Naked Cherry line, but I have always been a sucker for their Vice Lipsticks, especially when there is special packaging involved. One shade that I didn’t already have from their line was a vampy berry, so this was the perfect addition to my collection. I love love their cream lipsticks. They are so comfortable and pigmented!
Urban Decay Flat Eyeshadow E206
This is the perfect brush for applying metallic shades to the lid. It is a flat firm synthetic shader that picks up pigment well, and deposits them equally as well. I don’t think any tool can beat a finger when it comes to applying metallics on the lid, but this brush helps a lot in hard to reach places like the inner corner. I use this brush every day!
Well that’s it for my October Fave Five!
That ColourPop Good Sport palette just screams autumn!
I started using the Hourglass palette as soon as I got it, and I think the bronzer is my favourite too. The other powders are really nice, too!

Yay I’m glad you are enjoying the Hourglass palette! I don’t know what it is about that bronzer, it’s too good!

ooo you got the new hourglass palette! It looks beautiful, especially that bottom highlight shade!
And the Good Sport palette is of course stunning, I love your swatches. I only didn’t purchase it because I have such similar shades in my Soph Extra Spice Palette.
That UD lipstick is really pretty! I also wasn’t really interested in the Naked Cherry line but after seeing the lipstick swatch I might reconsider.

The highlighter does look extra special, especially with how it looks in the pan! It’s pretty on for sure, but perhaps not my favourite highlighter at the moment.
That’s fair enough about the Good Sport palette! That Soph palette looks really nice and has a nice variety of shades too!
The lipstick is very pretty! Definitely filled a void in my collection. Gotta have more vampy lipsticks!

What’s your favorite highlighter right now?
I keep looking at it though. I got my brown sugar palette in the mail today and I’m almost thinking I should have ordered the good sport too. I’m staying strong!
Vampy lipsticks all winter long!

I’m curious to hear how brown sugar is! Can’t wait for your review! Right now I’m still very much obsessed with the NARS highlighters, but I recently started using the ABH Amrezy again after a long break and I’m loving it! And the Hourglass Highlighting sticks are still a fave for sure!

Spoiler alert, I realllly reaally like this palette! It’s very neutral but I tried to dupe the shades across all my palettes and couldn’t find an exact match. The charcoal grey shade is really grungy, it makes me think of the 90s!
I heard that Amrezy is coming back, I need to pick it up this time around. Oh yes I remember that you liked the hourglass ones too!

Ok wow! I’ve been semi-tempted but it’s all browns so of course my first thought is “I don’t need that”. But maybe I do….. >.>

The shades jamocha and sorrel are pretty standard browns being honest, but the shades chai, amber and ginger make up for it in my opinion. If you want to see each shade in action you should check out thatgirlshae’s live swatching video on youtube, she swatches each shade on her eyes so you can see if they’re like anything you already own!
