Hello everyone! It’s your friendly Fall fanatic back at it again with a list of delicious and mouth-watering nail polishes for Fall!
If you were with my blog last Fall (I am both shocked and blessed if you were indeed here then), then you will know that I have already done a nail polish recommendation post for Fall! However, I’m back now with an updated list, that includes many newcomers, but also some repeats, because I just can’t stop talking about them.
At this point I have about 187 nail polishes. That’s a lot. So, because I do have so many it’s nice to pick out the shades that are perfect for the season every once in a while.
Let’s go through some of my favourite nail polish formulas currently.
- KL Polish is currently my favourite nail polish formula. And I think you already know this since their collections have featured prominently on my blog and instagram over the last year. I love the shades that Kathleen releases every season, and the formula is very chip resistant and quick-drying. I also love that the brush is wider, making it easier and faster to cover the nail evenly. Sometimes the shades can be a little thick (I particularly had issues with this in the Spring 2018 collection), which makes them more difficult to work with, but it’s still doable. The only problem is that they have suspended international shipping recently, so they are only shipping to the US right now. So my apologies to those of you who are not in the US, because I also am very frustrated that I can’t easily get my hands on their polishes at the moment. Hopefully they find a way to ship internationally again soon. KL Polishes are 12-free and cruelty free.
- China Glaze has another great formulation. Their polishes dry quickly, take longer to chip and are often very pigmented with only one coat. I would say about 50% of my collection is China Glaze. I am not in love with the brushes though, they are quite thin and I wish they were a bit wider so that you would get better coverage on the nail. China Glaze lacquers are 3-free and cruelty free (PETA Certified).
- OPI is obviously a classic, however it is more expensive and doesn’t have a really stand out lacquer formula for me. Some of their polishes also seem to take quite a while to dry down. I do like their brush though, it is a bit on the wider side. OPI is 3-free and there are mixed messages whether it is cruelty free or not. Most people say it is not, but their parent brand Coty is certainly not.
Polish brands that I have included in this post but need to try more of before I form a complete opinion on are Cirque Colors, ILNP, Orly and Zoya. And I can’t wait to become more familiar with these brands!
Alright, let’s get into my picks!
Shades that scream pumpkin glam…

KL Polish Chloe
KL Polish Chloe is an army green crème that is actually a shade that is quite hard to find in stores. What seems like a no-brainer shade for Fall is really not all that common, and a must-have in my opinion. If you want to see a full mani with this shade check out my insta here. I recommend two coats for this shade.

Zoya Ginger
Zoya Ginger is a tangerine orange with a gold pearl that is so so pretty and vibrant in the sunlight. This shade is pretty with two coats, but I prefer three to give the full effect. This shade doesn’t appear to be available anymore on the Zoya website, but I’m sure one of the many websites that sell discontinued polishes have it. There is, however a similar shade on the Zoya website, Tanzy. If anything, this shade can give you colour inspiration to find something similar!

Cirque Colors Halcyon
Cirque Colors Halcyon is a metallic rose gold that has an incredible mirror finish! As you can see in the bottle close-up, the reflect is incredible. This shade is opaque with two coats and is oh so stunning.

OPI A Woman’s Prague-ative
OPI A Woman’s Prague-ative is a bronze-y orange with a bright golden-orange shimmer. This is a repeat from last years’ recommendations, because I just can’t get over it! The amount of warm golden shimmer it has is incredible, and it looks just stunning in the sun. Unfortunately this is another discontinued polish from the Euro Centrale collection, but if you can find it somewhere then definitely do! If you want to see a full mani with this shade, check out my Pumpkin Spice Mani. This shade does take some building, and I prefer it with three coats.

KL Polish Prince Cornelious
Prince Cornelious is a deep bronze with a golden shimmer finish. This is the best bronze-y brown shimmer shade out there. There is so much shimmer packed into this polish, which makes it reflect very nicely in the sun. However, in the shade, this polish looks like a beautiful bronze metallic. This shade is perfect with two coats.

Shades for the harvest table…

KL Polish Point Zero
KL Polish Point Zero is a cool-toned grey brown crème. This is a nice twist on any other neutral. This shade looks best with two coats.

KL Polish Taurus
KL Polish Taurus is a medium warm brown crème. This shade is actually so unique. I usually only come across neutral browns or cool browns in the store, but this warm brown is awesome for Fall. Totally reminds me of falling leaves. This polish is perfect with two coats.

KL Polish Cubana
KL Polish Cubana is a burnt red crème. I love this shade of red because it’s not a vampy deep red, and not a classic bright red, but a slightly more muted happy medium of the two. I prefer two coats for this shade.

Orly Bus Stop Crimson
Orly Bus Stop Crimson is a deep crimson crème. This is another repeat love of mine, because it is my favourite vampy shade to wear in the Fall and Winter. If you want to look like a badass, this is the shade. This shade builds well, but I prefer 2-3 coats to really get it opaque.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Ruby Do
Sally Hansen Ruby Do is a deep raspberry crème. When I am going for more of a berry tone but still want a deep, almost vampy shade, this is the one. I recommend two coats for this shade!

Those are all such pretty colors! One color I like to wear is KL polish Cassiopeia. It’s a rich dark brown with lots of shimmer. In the shade it looks almost black.

I love dark, vampy polishes year-round. That Orly Polish is right up my alley. I have a couple similar ones from OPI & LA Colors but I can’t remember the shade names.
