Hey everyone! Today I want to do a really fun Makeup Wishlist TAG that I came across on Lauren Mae Beauty’s Youtube Channel! Lauren Mae is one of my favourite small beauty Youtuber’s who is a working makeup artist and often does more creative looks and features really interesting topics on her channel. This tag, however, was started by Drea CN on Youtube, who is new to me.
So, let’s get into this tag!
1. What is the very next makeup item you’re planning on buying?
Even though I have been feeling so burnt out on eyeshadow palettes lately, I’m still going to be ordering the Colourpop Good Sport Eyeshadow Palette. The colour combination of greens, mustards, purples and browns just seems so new, curated and perfect for Fall! I’m just so curious about it! And I know that the Colourpop eyeshadow formula is phenomenal.
For whatever reason they have the ugliest, most washed out photo of the palette on their website, so I have included an instagram post from @colourpopcult as well. You can also find them and all these pictures on their blog Ourbeautycult.
2. If you could walk into Sephora TODAY and buy any one item (regardless of budget), what would it be?
Even though I’m burnt out on eyeshadow palettes, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t pick one up if budget wasn’t an obstacle. There’s just something that makes me want to have a luxury eyeshadow palette. The Pat McGrath Mothership V: Bronze Seduction in particular attracts me because it looks like something that I would love to use daily because it has plenty of good neutrals, but also what looks like some really intense metallics. Although the swatches that I have seen have looked very fake, and almost different in colour, so I would want to swatch this baby myself. Also the packaging is to die for!
3. What is the oldest item on your Sephora Loves List?
All of the items that are the oldest on my list are perfumes that I have liked from samples that I have received. I often change around the items on my loves list, but perfumes usually stay put because I might want to try them again in the future, and it’s easy to forget the various names! The Giorgio Armani Si Rollerball is actually the oldest on the list, and I can’t even remember what it smells like! The notes are Pear, Freesia, Amber Wood. I love scents with amber or musk, so I’m not surprised that I liked this!
4. What is the newest item on your Sephora Loves List?
Shiit, you caught me. How is the most neutral of all of the new Huda Beauty Obsessions Precious Stones palettes at the top of my loves list?! 🙈
I don’t know what it is, but the warmth of the Topaz palette just draws me in! It must be the time of year that has brainwashed me. I’m pretty sure I don’t need this palette, but I would like to swatch it in store. I just want to wear all the warm smokey eyes right now!
5. What Perfume is on the top of your wishlist?
This one stumped me at first, because I really haven’t though about purchasing a perfume in a while. I just switched over to using my fall scents, Dior Poison Girl Eau de Parfum and YSL Black Opium Eau de Toilette and I am totally happy with those. BUT, one perfume that I absolutely fell in love with from first sniff was the Coach eau de Parfum sample that I received in my Shopper’s Spend your points haul. I would ABSOLUTELY get this, and I’m glad to be reminded of it! Next time I have points to redeem at Shopper’s I will get this! The notes are sparkling raspberry, creamy Turkish roses, with a musk base. I told you I like musk.
6. What is the new release you’re looking most forward to?
Honestly, I surprised myself by how excited I felt when I saw that Too Faced would be releasing a full-sized Gingerbread Spice palette for the holidays. Classically, their regular holiday releases and eyeshadow palettes that are in the cardboard packaging are poorer quality. But, this isn’t one of their typical holiday releases, it actually comes in one of their tins like the Chocolate Bar, so I’m hoping that this palette is the same quality as those! Although this colour scheme is largely neutral, I think it is super cute and different for the holidays! However, I am very annoyed that they have already released it, and I do not want to purchase it until it actually feels like Winter and Christmas. So if it is available at that point (it’s already sold out🙄), then I might get it.
7. Are there any drugstore products you want but haven’t yet pulled the trigger on?
I actually did a drugstore haul yesterday, but I still haven’t been able to get my hands on these Revolution Beauty products because they don’t seem to be sold in Canada (that I can find). Both of these have been recommendations from Emily Noel. One is the Revolution Renaissance Illuminate in “Radiant in Rose”. This is classified as a highlighter, but it looks like the most beautiful glowy blush! The other is the Revolution Renaissance Flick which is a black felt tip eyeliner that has been getting really good reviews! The packaging on both of these is incredible, and the prices are ever better! I just need to place an online order…
8. The eyeshadow palette you’re lusting over the most.
Honestly, I have been wanting to get the Dominique Cosmetics Latte Eyeshadow palette since it came out last Fall, but the shipping on her website to Canada was just way too high! Like $25 too high! When it came to Ulta, I was super excited, but I couldn’t find it in stores when I was on my US trip in the summer, and I didn’t want to place a $100 order on Ulta for free shipping at that time. BUT NOW THAT IT’S AT SEPHORA, all my dreams have come true, except for one. It hasn’t been in stock once!!! This palette is seriously tormenting me. It might be that I am lusting over this because it has been unavailable to me all this time, but I freaking want this. And it will be mine!!
9. Product you’re waiting for your next birthday/Christmas to ask for.
Now this palette I keep going back and forth on. The Natasha Denona Safari Palette. The first pictures that were released of this palette made it look totally unattractive. A ton of deep shades that would show up on the eye the same. However, now that it has been released, all of the pictures are much brighter and the shades look a lot better. I’ve got to say, as soon as Fall comes around I love myself a good all matte palette. And the colour scheme of this palette is just so perfect for Fall! This year I have been buying all of my friends Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes and other similar products for their birthday’s, so I figure I probably have $250 coming my way for my birthday. So that could be the perfect opportunity to get such an expensive palette that I would never get myself. But I first want to see a ton of reviews! Also, my birthday is in December so I might be totally over this by then. But we’ll see.
10. What is the item that you’re dying to have that is not available in your country/area?
Fricken hell, it’s KL POLISH!!! I am so pissed that they took away International shipping, and now the new Fall Collection is coming out! You guys know that the number one polish I have been using lately is KL Polish. The formula is great and the shades in the collections that she releases are gorgeous! But now shipping to Canada has been unavailable for two months, and it still hasn’t been fixed or even addressed as to what is going on! I’m actually pretty upset with how all of this has been handled. There has been zero transparency as to what is going on, and the fact that this still hasn’t been resolved two months later, and by the time the next collection has come out? I’m extremely disappointed.
11. What is the thing that you really want but you’ll never buy because its “too expensive”?
Let’s be real, there’s nothing I wouldn’t buy, given the right circumstances. However, when a price is extremely high for what you are getting, then I have some principles to stand on. That would be a $40 lip balm. The Dior Lip Glow is $40 CAD!!! I have to admit, I’ve lusted over this time to time, because people just rave about how good it is! But how good can it really be?! It’s a lip balm! To each their own, but I just can’t justify getting this.
12. If there was a beauty product Genie who could grant you one wish, what would you wish for?
This is a hard question to answer. I’d love a shopping spree, unlimited Sephora products, all the luxury products in the world. But what I want the most is a restriction on the amount of products companies release. Wouldn’t it be nice if all companies had to abide to a seasonal release schedule? The market is just so flooded with products, and I feel so overwhelmed by the releases. So overwhelmed that it makes me want nothing! What ever happened to supply and demand? If there are fewer things released, people will want them more, they will be more successful and sell better, and everyone will have time to actually use and love the products they buy. But because there are so many products all the time, no one can keep up. I truly think this strategy must be back firing for the companies that just can’t stop, or it will start to backfire soon. They think producing more and more will get them more and more capital, but at some point there has to be a threshold. Haven’t we hit it already? I don’t know what the solution is, but things just can’t continue like this!
Well, wasn’t that a fun TAG?! These questions were a lot of fun to answer, and I always love thinking about makeup and basically virtually shopping.
I tag everyone that reads this to do this TAG! Take a break from the reviews, let’s sit down, have a chat, and do some virtual shopping together!
