August Fave Five

Hey everyone! Happy September! I cannot even express how happy and excited I am for September to be here! I am a big fan of seasons, especially when they are transitioning! I used to hate summer, and now I really do like it. But my one and only true love is Fall. It’s when I’m the most happy, the most inspired and the most cozy. Who feels the same way?

With that being said, here are the products that I have been truly enjoying during the month of August. Luckily, these products will transition into Fall makeup well!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo “Chocolate”

Lately I’ve been looking for a more natural brow option for “no makeup makeup” days, and a brow powder seemed perfect. I know there are plenty of drugstore powders, but I just knew this ABH one would be great, and it is. Chocolate includes a slightly warmer and a slightly cooler powder. I basically mix both to apply to my brows. It is very easy to apply, and the powders are pressed very firmly so you aren’t wasting product with kick up.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles “Orange Soda”, “Burnt Orange”, “Sienna”, “Hot Chocolate”

Back in June, I hit pan on FOUR of the shades in the ABH Soft Glam palette, the four main shades that I used for all of my looks: Tempera, Orange Soda, Burnt Orange, and Sienna. This wasn’t entirely unreasonable since I had been using this palette pretty constantly in April through May. I was even using these mattes for looks with other palettes or with the Stila Shimmer and Glows. But this made me realize that this palette was going to be pretty unusable without those four shades once they were gone entirely, so I decided to go ahead and buy them in singles. Unfortunately, Tempera is not available as a single, so I got the brown shade Hot Chocolate to mimic Cyprus Umber, which I also use with all of my looks. I can happily report that the singles perform exactly the same as those in the palette, if not better!

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush “Sparkling Bellini”

I actually bought this blush off of a friend probably a year ago (don’t worry, I sanitized it) and hadn’t actually used it until this summer. I think for some people it can look scary shimmery, but it really doesn’t come off too glittery at all! First of all, the orange shade really just adds the most perfect flush to the cheeks EVER. This has got to be one of the best shades of blush I own. Secondly, I love the radiance it adds to my cheeks. I usually mix all the shades together when using it, but there are three separate shades if you want to focus your brush in them individually. I highly recommend this blush! So pretty and blendable, and pigmented too!

Becca X Chrissy Teigen Endless Bronze & Glow

Over this past month, I’ve really been enjoying using this product to add radiance to my cheeks. I like to swirl all of the shades together, and then swipe it all over the blush/bronzer/highlighter areas of my cheeks as a finishing step after applying all of my other powders. It just adds the most beautiful luminosity! While this product isn’t necessary (you can use any highlighter and swipe it all over your cheeks, or a shimmery blush), I’ve really been enjoying this product. I don’t own the Moonstone highlighter and I love Becca bronzers so I feel slightly justified lol.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Chisel Palette

I purchased this contour palette when it was on sale for the Weekly Wow at Sephora a few weeks ago. For the past year and a half I had been using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, the shade Fawn in particular, to contour. However, the pan on that shade is so bad I knew it was time to move on. And guess what?! Of course they don’t sell a refill of that shade at Sephora… WTF. So, I’ve been on the search for a new contour shade, and the shade Princess Cut in this Tarte palette seemed a good candidate. And it is working beautifully! The shades in this palette are so blendable and smooth, and easy to build. It also includes matte shades to highlight (both a warm and cool undertone) and two shimmery bronzers. So overall, I love the variety of products included.

Well that’s it for my August Fave Five! What were your favourite products of the month? Have you tried any of these? Comment down below!
