Wow! or Waste? Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection | Pt. 2

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Wow! or Waste? Whether a whole collection has been launched, or just a new product, I’m going to evaluate whether each product is either a Wow! buy or a Waste? of money, in terms of the price and the amount of product you get.

Yesterday we began the evaluation of the new Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection, which is now available on the Too Faced website and is an Ulta exclusive.

BE THE LIFE OF THE PARTY WITH JUICY COLOR & SPARKLE.

Introducing the new fabulous and fruity line that makes it impossible not to be the life of the party. These feminine pops of color infused with juicy scents and party-ready sparkle turn any moment into a celebration.”

For all of the items I cover, for whatever reason there really haven’t been swatches of the products made available. So if you are looking for swatches, scroll to the end of this post for an Instragram post by Trendmood1 where she has swatched almost all of the products in the collection.

Because there are so many products in this Tutti Frutti Collection, I decided to break it up into two parts. If you want to see my evaluation of the first half of the collection, check out Pt. 1. Today, we are covering the rest, so let’s get into it!

It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder

Product Information

“This complexion-perfecting banana-scented setting powder blurs imperfections and harsh lines for brightened, smoothed, and soft-focus skin.

  • Yellow powder brightens and flatters skin with golden undertones when placed on high points of the face for a matte highlighter
  • Yellow tone neutralizes redness on very fair skin
  • Can be used to set concealer under eye for brightening”

Price and Quantity

This setting powder is priced at $38 CAD ($30 USD) and has 0.37 oz of product.

For comparisons to other products, I have chosen other high-ish end banana pressed finishing powders. There really aren’t a lot out there, and a lot of banana powders are included as pans in contour kits etc.

Here are the comparisons listed from best value to worst value:

Rank Product  Cost
($ CAD)
Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Sephora Collection Bright Set Pressed Finishing Powder $20 0.3 $67/oz
2 Too Faced It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder $38 0.37 $103/oz
3 OFRA Pressed Banana Powder Compact $16 0.14 $114/oz
4 Make Up For Ever Artist Face Color Highlight, Sculpt and Blush Powder H108 $29 0.17 $171/oz
5 Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Pressed Powder $45 0.21 $214/oz

Wow! or Waste?

Overall, I would say that this banana powder is a Wow! Of course there is a more affordable Sephora Collection powder, but the Sephora brand will always be more affordable. It seems to hover between drugstore and high end, that’s for sure. You can of course find banana powders in the drugstore, but this might be a good high end option if you don’t already have one in a contour palette etc. The compact is super cute!

Pineapple Paradise Strobing Bronzer Highlighting Duo

Product Information

“This first-of-its-kind velvet bronzer and glimmering highlighter duo smells like sweet pineapple and can be mixed together to create a customized, island-worthy glow.

  • Velvety-soft, silky formula for comfortable wear
  • Buildable pigment for customizable payoff
  • Satin-finish bronzer and strobing shimmer highlighter together in one compact
  • Smells like fresh pineapple”

Price and Quantity

This highlighter/bronzer duo is priced at $38 CAD ($30 USD) and has 0.28 oz of product.

For comparisons to other products, I have chosen other high end bronzer and highlighter duos, or compacts that include both a bronzer and highlighter in them.

Here are the comparisons listed from best value to worst value:

Rank Product  Cost
($ CAD)
Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Too Faced Pineapple Paradise Strobing Bronzer Highlighting Duo $38 0.28 $136/oz
2 Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo $80 0.56 $143/oz
3 Too Faced Unicorn Tears Bronzer $38 0.24 $158/oz
4 Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Duo On The Go $33 0.18 $183/oz
5 Becca Gradient Sunlit Bronzer $46 0.25 $184/oz
5 Becca x Chrissy Teigen Endless Bronze & Glow $46 0.25 $184/oz

Wow! or Waste?

Ranking in first place, this product is a total Wow! I think what’s going to be really important with this product is that these are shades that you truly think will work for you. Otherwise, you might want to explore some of these other products. I have reviewed the Becca Gradient Sunlit Bronzer and I love it! to be honest, out of all of the products in this collection, this is the one of few that is tempting me the most!

Frosted Fruits Highlighter Stick

Frosted Fruits_1

“This multi-use cream-to-powder highlighting stick provides one-swipe, blendable sparkling payoff for face and eyes

Price and Quantity

These cream highlighters are priced at $38 CAD ($30 USD) and have 0.35 oz of product.

For comparisons to other products, I have chosen other high end cream highlighters.

Here are the comparisons listed from best value to worst value:

Rank Product  Cost
($ CAD)
Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Milk Makeup Highlighter $29 1 $29/oz
2 Natasha Denona Face Glow Cream Shimmer $54 0.84 $64/oz
3 NARS The Multiple $49 0.5 $98/oz
4 Too Faced Frosted Fruits Highlighter Stick $38 0.35 $109/oz
5 Benefit Watt’s Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter $40 0.33 $121/oz
6 Cover FX Enhance Click Highlighter $24 0.17 $141/oz
7 Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick $52 0.21 $248/oz

Wow! or Waste?

Unfortunately, these cream highlighters are more on the Waste? side, especially since they have worse value than similar NARS and Natasha Denona products! However, I absolutely LOVE those Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Sticks, so value isn’t everything if the formula is good! It also takes a very long time to get through cream products like this.

Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo

4_BlushDuos_L

“This brightening and luminescent blush duo created with our soft-touch, silky formula is the perfect way to customize your flush from sweet and flirty to a sexy, sparkling glow.

Shades

Strobeberry: Sparkling metallic warm pink/strawberry baby pink
Plumagranate: Shimmering lilac/soft pomegranate pink
Cherry Bomb: Shimmering metallic copper/soft cherry wine
Apricot in the Act: Shimmering frosted apricot/soft terracotta rose

Price and Quantity

These blush duos are priced at $38 CAD ($30 USD) and have 0.22 oz of product.

For comparisons to other products, I have chosen other high end glowy blushes that should give you a radiant finish.

Here are the comparisons listed from best value to worst value:

Rank Product  Cost
($ CAD)
Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Too Faced Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo $38 0.22 $173/oz
2 Laura Mercier Baked Blush Illumine $50 0.28 $179/oz
3 Tarte Blush and Glow (Ulta) $40 0.21 $190/oz
4 Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush $41 0.21 $195/oz
5 Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush $38 0.19 $200/oz
6 Ciate London Glow-To Illuminating Blush $31 0.141 $220/oz
7 MAC Extra Dimension Blush $33 0.14 $236/oz
8 NARS Blush $38 0.16 $238/oz
9 Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Collection $45 0.15 $300/oz

Wow! or Waste?

I have to say, I am simultaneously glad and surprised that these are a Wow! I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I think these blush duos are the product that have me the most interested! Which shade though? I would probably get the

Sparkling Pineapple Champagne

Price and Quantity

These liquid highlighters are priced at $38 CAD ($30 USD) and have 0.59 oz of product.

For comparisons to other products, I have chosen other high end liquid highlighters, some that have a smooth shimmer, and others that are more glittery.

Here are the comparisons listed from best value to worst value:

Rank Product  Cost
($ CAD)
Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter $50 1.7 $29/oz
2 Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Glow Highlighter $33 0.68 $49/oz
3 Too Faced Fresh Squeezed Highlighting Drops $38 0.59 $64/oz
4 Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Soft Light Liquid Highlighter $36 0.4 $90/oz
5 Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops $52 0.5 $104/oz
6 Benefit High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter $35 0.33 $106/oz
7 Cover FX Glitter Drops $54 0.5 $108/oz
8 Smashbox Petal Metal Shimmer Drops $40 0.34 $118/oz
9 Stila Glitter & Glow Highlighter $39 0.2 $195/oz

Wow! or Waste?

Overall, I feel like these liquid highlighters are neither a Wow! or a Waste? ranking in third place. There are some really great liquid highlighters that are better in value, but plenty that are worse in value as well. I like the sound of the scents of these highlighters, but the tried and true Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter might be a better move since it has such a good value. Hard to say!

Overall Collection Value

Overall, this collection has a ton of items that have a really great value. Too Faced is usually pretty good about pricing their items competitively on the market, and this collection is no exception. Only three items proved to be of poor value, and even then, they weren’t that bad. Overall, I think a product being of good value can be a great point of incentive to tempt you to buy. If you were already thinking about getting something, and it just happens to have a better value than similar products on the market, then bonus! I think I’m the most tempted by the Pineapple Paradise Strobing Bronzer Highlighting Duo and the Fruit Cocktail Blush Duos, but am also kind of curious about the cream highighters even though they weren’t a Wow!

Here is an overview of how all of the products in this collection ranked!

Product Product Category Rank Within category Wow! or Waste?
Eye Shadow Palettes Eye Shadow Palette 5 Waste?
Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eye Shadow Liquid Eyeshadow 2 Wow!
Juicy Fruits Comfort Lip Glaze Lip Gloss 1 Wow!
Dew You Full-Coverage Fresh Glow Foundation Foundation 1 Wow!
Dew You Fresh Glow Setting Spray Setting Spray 4 Waste?
It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder Banana Powder 2 Wow!
Pineapple Paradise Strobing Bronzer Highlighting Duo Bronzer/Highlighter 1 Wow!
Frosted Fruits Highlighter Stick Cream Highlighter 4 Waste?
Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo Blush 1 Wow!
Fresh Squeezed Highlighting Drops Liquid Highlighter 3 Neither

Well that’s all for today’s Wow! or Waste? Were you thinking about purchasing any of these items? Will you go through with it now that you know their value? Comment down below!

  1. I’m so happy TF has done something new and different! I don’t know if I like any of the products enough to buy them though. I might have to look at them in store first.
