Hey everyone! Welcome back to Wow! or Waste? Whether a whole collection has been launched, or just a new product, I’m going to evaluate whether each product is either a Wow! buy or a Waste? of money, in terms of the price and the amount of product you get.

This time around we are evaluating the new Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss, which is currently available on the Bite Beauty and Sephora websites, and will be available in stores July 20th.

“This limited edition collection of coffee-inspired lip glosses serves up indulgently creamy shine in warm java hues.”

Price and Quantity

These lipglosses are priced at $26 CAD ($22 USD) and have 0.15 oz of product.

For comparisons to other products, I have just chosen other high end glosses that are popular or new at retailers like Sephora.

Here are the comparisons listed from best value to worst value:

Rank Product  Cost
($ CAD)
Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb $23 0.3 $77/oz
2 Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss $23 0.23 $100/oz
3 Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss $21 0.16 $131/oz
4 Becca Glow Lip Gloss $27 0.18 $150/oz
5 Buxom Full-on Lip Polish/Cream $24 0.15 $160/oz
6 Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss $26 0.15 $173/oz
7 bareMinerals GEN NUDE Buttercream Lip Gloss $23 0.13 $177/oz
8 Marc Jacobs Enamoured Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer $35 0.16 $219/oz

Wow! or Waste?

Ranking at #6, these lipglosses are unfortunately a Waste?. Therefore, I really do hope that the formula is good to make up for the poor value. But let’s face it, the value isn’t the worst out there!

I have a few favourites that rank above the Bite gloss, including the Fenty Gloss Bomb, ABH Lip Gloss, and the Becca Glow Lip Glosses, but I think that this Bite one will be different. It looks like it will give you a more sheer creamy colour (potentially similar to the Buxom and Marc Jacobs glosses), which is quite different from my usual faves, which are either opaque or shimmery. I have ordered the shade Dirty Chai, so it is on its way to me now, and of course I am hoping that I like it. The fact that it is scented like coffee totally sold me, I must say!

Well that’s all for today’s Wow! or Waste? Were you thinking about purchasing any of these lipglosses? Will you go through with it now that you know their value? Comment down below!

    1. They are all supposed to be! I will be posting my review of the gloss probably in the next week. But I’ll give you a spoiler: I’m not sure how much I like the scent. It’s a little more like stale coffee than delicious coffee 🤷🏻‍♀️ But that could just be me. Most of the time my sense of smell isn’t great for whatever reason.

    1. No problem! I will be reviewing the actual formula next week, so you can tune in then to see if it’s worth it despite the value. I got the shade Dirty Chai and I do think it is pretty!

  1. I’ve heard really good things about them from the reviews I’ve seen. The colors are super pretty, I’m not a coffee fan, but I am intrigued by them.

    1. I got the shade Dirty Chai, which I will be reviewing next week likely, and so far I like it. It’s a pretty shade, and it’s not too sheer. The coffee scent isn’t great though which sucks.

      1. That seems like a nice color, I can’t wait for your review! Does it smell like coffee at all? If not, then I’m definitely getting one!

  2. What, this line is limited edition!? I didn’t realize that, I need to order one asap!! It’s unfortunate that it’s not the greatest value, but the shades are really pretty…
I think I’ll wait to read your review though, I need to know if it’s sticky or not!

    1. It is really stupid that these are limited edition, since Bite doesn’t have a dedicated gloss line (other than their prismatic ones). The gloss is comfortable, so I would say go ahead and order one. But I will post a review this week 🙂
