Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday! If you read my Beauty Brands That Can’t Take a Hint Roasted post, you will know that the newest beauty launches that have been happening over the last month or two have not been knocking off my socks! Quite the contrary, some of them have been straight up making me shake my head in disbelief. Well, even though they have been few and far between, there actually have been some releases that have got me excited. Whether I will purchase them or not, I am not quite sure. But all of these items have got me feeling the summer vibes!
KL Polish Havana Heat Collection
As we speak this polish collection is on its way to my house! So far I have really been loving KL Polish. The shades that Kathleen comes out with every season always seem to be both perfect and slightly unique. This seasons collection is especially unique (maybe with the exception of the yellow and the pink). A lot of people were complaining that they thought these shades were more suited to Fall, but that is just fine with me! It takes a long time to wear 6 shades of nail polish, so a collection that can easily transition into the Fall is awesome. And I know that I will love wearing these during the summer too.
Dominique Cosmetics Lemonade Eyeshadow Palette
If you aren’t familiar, Dominque Cosmetics is a brand that was created by Christen Dominique, a beauty Youtuber that has almost 4 million subscribers. I have been watching Christen for at least a year now, and she appears to be one of the kindest and most down to earth youtubers out there. She definitely seems to try to keep out of the drama, which I appreciate. Ever since her first palette came out, the Latte Palette, I have been super interested in her brand. The Lemonade palette, while not totally screaming lemonade, has such a refreshing (no pun intended) colour scheme that really inspires me. A lot of people have fixated on the name not being quite right, which is unfortunate. I think it would have been better named as the Gelato Palette or something. But I love it as it is and will likely be getting it!
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Thirsty Palette
When I saw that this eyeshadow palette was coming out, I was pretty excited. I love how many colourful matte shades there are, because colourful mattes are often lacking in palettes like this. However, I am slightly disappointed that there aren’t any colourful metallics in this palette. Overall, while I think that this palette is very pretty, I likely won’t be getting it. I just don’t enjoy how much drama Jeffree perpetuates. It totally turns me off.
Violet Voss Flamingo Eye Shadow Palette
As soon as I saw this palette, I was totally entranced! The shades are so so beautiful, and I love the variety that you get! I still have yet to try the Violet Voss formula, so this is a good contender if it comes to Sephora! A lot of these summer palettes are looking the same, but I think this one and the Lemonade Palette are the highest contenders for my money!
Becca Cosmetics Gradient Sunlit Bronzers
If you checked out my post on Thursday, you will know that I have already purchased one of these! I have the shade “Sunset Waves”, which is a beautiful red-toned bronzer that is perfect for mimicking a real tan. These bronzers have multiple shades from the existing Sunlit Bronzer line that Becca has, as well as strips of highlighter in them! I just think that these bronzers are so glowy and gorgeous, and I fully intend to buy the other shade! I think “Sunrise” Waves will be beautiful for my natural skin tone after my tan fades! You can check out my full review of “Sunset Waves” here.
Origins Dragon Fruit Brightening SuperFruit Mask
As soon as I saw that there was early access to this product on Sephora, I ordered it. I own almost all of the Origins masks and they are great! This mask is supposed to hydrate, brighten and help re-texturize your skin. All great things for summer! I have used this mask twice now, and it is really nice. I can’t say that I’ve seen any significant improvements yet, but I will let you know when and if I do!
Marc Jacobs Coconut Fantasy Collection
Honestly, I was interested in all of these products when they came out. Especially the bronzer. However, I have since become pretty jaded over the bronzer since it has been non-stop out of stock through Sephora Canada. I haven’t once had access to it since it was re-released in April. So I’m kind of annoyed over that. But overall, I think this collection is so perfect for glowy summer looks. The shades in the eye palette look stunning, although they don’t appear to be anything different or special. So I probably won’t end up getting it. But in the meantime I can admire it!
Marc Jacobs Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick
I am very much always into lip glosses, so when I saw that this lip gloss stick was being released, I was very impressed. I love the L’Oreal Color Riche High Shine Lipsticks, which I imagine are very similar to these. The packaging on these is so cool too since they totally look like their lipglosses! However, I probably wouldn’t pick up any of them since they are so expensive ($34 CAD), and I think the L’Oreal Color Riche ones are great. But I am glad that they released these!
Well, that’s it for the products that I am actually excited for this summer! So many releases have been underwhelming. Which products have actually gotten you excited?
