Hey everyone! How have you been lately? If you are reading this on my actual website, and not through the WordPress reader, then you will know that I have done a bit of re-branding on my blog. I am about one month away now from my 1 year blogiversary, so I thought it was time to switch things up a bit. I would love to get your feedback if you have any!
If you read yesterday’s blog post, Beauty brands that can’t take a hint, you will know that a lot of recent releases have been grinding my gears for one reason or another. However, there are definitely some items that have piqued my interest. Although, not quite enough to get me to drop the big bucks. Luckily, mini size products are becoming more and more common, which is amazing if you still want to try new product, but are on a tight budget or have limited space. Mini sized products are also great if you just know you aren’t going to use all of something. And that, my friends, is what this post is all about.
I have gathered a list of items that I am definitely interested in trying, but I’m not quite willing to spend the money on because they are either 1) expensive, 2) too big, so I know I will never finish them or 3) I would like to try the product but I know I won’t use it a whole lot.
So, let’s get into it!
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed “Dreamsicle”
TBH I was hypnotized by that creamy, dreamy orange swirl since I first laid eyes on it. Believe me, I have all of the basic highlighter shades by now, so anything that is unique, but not crazy, grabs my interest. However, I’ve been tentative because I was not sure how pigmented it would be and whether it would work for my skin tone. BUT, if they were to come out with a mini size, I would JUMP on that!
Natasha Denona Tropic Palette
Now that ND has started to release some mini items, I am eagerly anticipating minis to come! I have the Mini Sunset palette, and I freaking love it! I probably use it every second day. The blendability is great, and the shades are soooo pretty for summer. SO, wouldn’t it be perfect if she dropped a mini, curated version of the Tropic palette? Especially if 2-3 of those colourful shades were in there. I would get that IMMEDIATELY!! If I were to create a mini with the shades above, I would choose Peach Puff, Coco, Mint Frost, Laguna and Limoncello. Which shades would you choose?
Fenty Beauty Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo
I admit, I do think that these highlighter duos look so beautiful, but as I mentioned in my Wow! or Waste? on the Fenty Beach Please Summer Collection, they just aren’t wearable enough for me, my style, and my skin tone. If I were to buy these, it would be for eyeshadow. But that’s a $44 CAD eyeshadow duo!!! HOWEVER, if these were half the size, $22 for an eyeshadow duo wouldn’t be the worst price in the world. And, you would actually have a hope of using some of the product. As things are, they are too pricey and too big for what use I would get out of them.
Fenty Beauty Body Lava Body Luminizer
Have you seen these in store? I really need to know, because if you haven’t, you cannot possibly appreciate my next sentence. THE PACKAGING OF THESE IS SO STUNNING I WANT TO BUY IT JUST FOR THE PACKAGING. Except, they are $69 CAD, so I won’t be doing that. I don’t know why she produced such large luminizers (3 oz is a lot of product) for such a hefty price. If she were to produce a 1 oz size, or even a 0.5 oz size, I would definitely be very interested. I do not use body luminizers often (if ever), but if there were a mini size it would potentially be worth it, and I would be willing to explore this product!
Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter
My thoughts on this product are very much the same as the last. This bottle costs a whopping $55 CAD, which is just too much. You only get 0.8 oz of product in this, but as a face highlighter I wouldn’t be surprised if that lasted you YEARS. You literally need one drop when using a liquid highlighter, so I would much rather pay less to get less. Additionally, it would probably go bad before you used it all up.
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan “Tan-tastic!”
Honestly, I’m still a little salty over this product. When it was first supposed to come back to Sephora in April, I was absolutely going to get it. However, it never seemed to come into stock in Canada, and I never ever got a back in stock e-mail, and it’s still out of stock 1.5 months later!! WTF!! It was so incredibly frustrating. But, I could potentially be won over again if he were to release a mini. And if it were to ever be in stock….. Clearly no guarantees there though.
Artist Couture x Jackie Aina Diamond Glow Powder Highlighter
I really love watching Jackie Aina on Youtube, and these loose highlighters that she released with Artist Couture look so stunning! I have never used a loose highlighter before, so I am very curious. However, I would much prefer to try a mini first, to see if it’s something I would even like. I could see it being pretty messy, and potentially difficult to work with.
Farsali Jelly Beam Illuminator
I was VERY interested when the first one of these came out. When reviewers applied it, it looked SO stunning. That is if they did it right, since it seems to require a sponge and quick application. However, I’m not going to pay $50 CAD for something that can very well turn out to be a disaster. Aren’t these new shades GORG though?
Stila Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow
I now own two of these, and they are some of my favourite eye products. However, I got those free through Shopper’s Drug Mart because of their rewards program. These liquid eyeshadows are so stinking expensive, it’s incredibly hard to justify. They periodically release mini sets, but I would love it if all of the shades were available as minis. I want that blue!!
Milk Watermelon Brightening Serum
I don’t know why, but when I saw that this was releasing, I was so interested! I’m pretty sure I’ve never tried anything from Milk, so why now? It’s definitely because of the watermelon. Oooh, I am such a marketing sucker. And even now, I’m interested, knowing that it apparently has literally no scent! What makes it watermelon? Well it’s the 9th ingredient in the stick (that’s not great). I know it’s best to not have scent in skin care, but how can they tease us like that!? Anyways, I would still be curious to try this if they made it available in a mini, which is plausible since they currently offer many other minis.
Well, those are all of the items that I would purchase if they were offered in a mini size! What items would you jump on if you could get them mini? Let me know!
