Earth Day 2018 | Earth-inspired Eye Look + Manicure

Hello everyone! I just wanted to do a quick post to wish you a happy Earth Day! For this special day, I decided to do an Earth-inspired eyeshadow look and manicure!

Earth Day Eye look

For the eye look, I decided to take on Earth from a space point of view. I first blended some warm browns and finally a black into the crease to simulate space, with some flecks of silver and gold glitter to represent stars. I also drew a white iridescent moon near the brow. For the lid, I did a blue and green halo eye, with a iridescent liner around the periphery to represent the airglow (glow caused from elemental reactions in Earth’s atmosphere) that is often seen around the periphery of Earth in space shots. Finally, I blended some green and blue shadows on the lower lash line, and finished off the waterline with a blue liner.

I am so happy with how pretty this look turned out! In the middle of it, I knew it could be awesome or a disaster, so I am glad that it turned out well!

Earth Day Manicure

For the manicure, I decided to go with a more abstract Earth design, also potentially as viewed from space. I started off by painting my nails white, so that I could get maximum brightness from the colours that I applied afterwards. I then dabbed two shades of blue and two of green in a scattered and uneven pattern on a sponge, and layered on to my nails until I was happy with the pigmentation!

The result was a very water-coloured effect, which is so pretty, and I think really fitting for Earth day!

  1. That earth eye look is so unique, I haven’t seen anything like it! Love the nails too!
I’m not doing anything special for Earth day, I’m working at the TV station and if we turn out the power we’ll go off air 😆
