If you weren’t already waiting with baited breath this morning for Tati’s brand announcement, I am here to clue you in. For the last few weeks Tati has been hinting across multiple social media platforms that the time has come to launch her own brand. However, it has been very hush hush about what type of products she would be producing, and even what the brand name would be.

Given the content of her channel, it would be logical to assume that she would start up a makeup brand. Most of the products she reviews are makeup, but it wouldn’t be surprising if she were to launch skin care, hair care, or even a fashion line/boutique. She often features her OOTD and she certainly has her own style (although, I can’t say I agree with the number of holes she has had in her shirts lately. Lol. We are taking it too far with the cheese grater people).
Anyways, to my surprise, the launch of her brand has not begun with any of these things, but with a dietary supplement. Yes, you read that right.
My first thought and reaction to this was what???🤔
This will be the first product launch of Tati’s new brand Halo Beauty. It will be sold exclusively on her new website: http://HaloBeauty.com however, the website will not be up and running until Friday.
This product launches at 10 AM PST on March 2, 2018 on http://HaloBeauty.com
So, because the website is not yet up, let’s go through some of the details that she revealed in her launch video.
Halo Beauty Hair | Skin | Nails Booster
This is supposedly the perfect vitamin (a dietary supplement) that is supposed to deliver visible results that you can actually see in the mirror. It should help your hair and nails grow, as well as improve your skin to make it softer, more hydrated, and firmer. It should also help decrease fine lines.
The dosage of this supplement is 2X per day, and you should be able to see visible results in 2-3 weeks.
This vitamin is formulated WITHOUT the following ingredients:
- Sugar (often included in dietary supplements, but causes inflammation and is generally unnecessary)
- Cruelty Free
One important ingredient that was revealed in this dietary supplement is Ceramide RX. This ingredient is apparently in the vitamins in a therapeutic dose, meaning that there is enough of this ingredient that it should give you visible results. This is apparently more than you would get in other beauty supplements.
With a quick google search I found a great article about ceramides that actually used primary scientific literature (reputable and often clinically tested) to back up their statements, which you can read here. To explain this simplistically, the emphasis is that ceramides are something that are naturally occurring in our skin. However, ceramide production decreases with age, so to stay looking young, we need to find a way to add more to our body. Experimental trials have been conducted on humans using ceramides taken from wheat (so, cruelty free) and have found that the oral ingestion of ceramides increased skin hydration, smoothness and suppleness markedly.
In terms of other ingredients, apparently there are 5 Anti-Grey Fighting Ingredients (no clue what those are supposed to be), as well as 15 other ingredients that all work together to improve your hair, skin and nails.
Apparently, these vitamins are clinically proven to work. In my view, that remains to be seen.
Finally, these vitamins are priced at $39.95 USD and there are 50 capsules in a bottle. Shipping will be available internationally.
My initial reaction
Honestly, I started watching this morning’s reveal video so excited. And now, I am so totally underwhelmed. Dietary supplements are just not something that I get excited about, and I am sure there are a ton of people who agree with me. Although, I can always use help with my skin, so if these really do work, then of course I am interested.
HOWEVER, Tati did mention offhandedly that this was the product that she wanted to start with because it should beautify from the inside out, and that she does want to grow as a brand and likely will produce cosmetics in the future.
As the first product to launch her brand, I am not so sure that this was a smart marketing decision. Dietary supplements are just not something that people get excited about, and it’s got to be very difficult to hype a product like that. Additionally, I am sure so many people are mirroring my feeling of slight disappointment with this first launch after the hype and excitement of our favourite Youtuber finally starting her own brand. I feel like this should have been a product that was produced later, after building trust and popularity with her brand, but that’s just my opinion.
Tati is by far my favourite Youtuber (In fact, she has put one of my tweets in one of her videos!), and I really trust her opinion. HOWEVER, for us to trust this dietary supplement is asking a lot. Especially when it is $40 USD a bottle and you can only buy it online, likely without any options to return. Depending on how much shipping costs to Canada, I may or may not try these. I must admit, with time I am becoming slightly curious, but again, she is asking for a lot of trust, in an item that she is undoubtedly biased. It is in her best interest to obviously sell us this item, so clearly she should say anything she can to sell it.BUT, she is also risking her huge reputation if she does sell us something that doesn’t work, so I’ve got to believe that it does in fact work. Because ultimately, she is putting everything on the line for this product and beauty brand launch.
What do you guys think? Is this a product that you are even remotely interested in? Should I try it? It’s really going to depend on how much shipping is to Canada for me.
Please share your thoughts below! I would love to get a conversation going!
