Hello everyone! Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and I want to take out some time to do some posts specific to this holiday of love and roses. In yesterday’s post I reviewed a lip kit that can give you the perfect nude lip for Valentine’s day, the Marc Jacobs Cream and Sugar Lip Trio. Please check out that post if you haven’t already!
Today, I’m going to be sharing with you some of my go-to ideas for quick and relatively inexpensive gifts that I think are great for GALentines Day. Yes, that’s right, Galentines Day, the day that you spend with your girl friends instead of your boyfriends. I don’t know about you, but I far prefer buying gifts for my girl friends!
So, let’s get into my suggestions!
One of the first places that I think to go when wanting to buy cute, but inexpensive gifts for my friends is Charming Charlie. Charming Charlie is a chain retailer that features a trendy and colorful assortment of women’s accessories, jewelry and clothing. Why not pick up some rose gold jewellery or a cute scarf for your friends? Some items that I think are really cute are pictured below! Click on the picture for a link to that item!
Now, something that I have never really talked about on here is that I am absolutely obsessed with David’s Tea!!! I love tea in general, but David’s Tea is especially great because they are always coming out with new collections and teas, including a collection for Valentine’s Day. Not only can you buy any amount of specialty loose leaf teas, but you can also buy gift sets, tea infused chocolate or candies, and teaware (mugs, travel mugs, etc.). They also have great samplers that you can get, where there is often a deal of buy 2, get 1 free. Check out some of my suggestions below! And don’t forget to click on the picture for a link to that item!
If you don’t have a David’s Tea local to you, don’t count out this idea! Really, any tea shop will do. I think most people love sampling new types of tea, so just get a small sampler of one, or a selection of a few.
Alright, enough preamble! I know you have been thinking, where is the makeup!? Well here we are. Of course, most of these items are going to be on the more expensive side if we are looking at Sephora. However, don’t be afraid to pick up a drugstore gem here and there. Below are some items that I think would make perfect little gifts from Sephora. Everyone loves minis!
Lip sets that include a few products are great for someone who’s lip shade and formula preference you don’t know. From liquid lips to glosses, your girl will be set! Also, don’t forget to use Ebates for this purchase if you are shopping online!
Another perfect gift for your gal on V-Day is something to make her glow! Mini highlighters are an awesome gift that any glam girl would appreciate. From value sets to straight up minis, Sephora has you covered!
If your friend is just as much of a makeup connoisseur are you are, she is going to love mini complexion products as well, such as mini face palettes or blushes. Or, why not go the full 9 yards and get her a mini eyeshadow palette? The mini Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes are such great value for the price!
And of course, one of the most typical gifts around Valentine’s Day is perfume. Now, this can be tricky since everyone has such particular preferences. However, smaller-sized rollerballs can definitely be the answer if you are unsure about what scent profile to go for. Here are some that I love and recommend. Also, it’s 3X the points on perfume until Valentine’s Day, so rack ’em up!
Some other no brainers when trying to find gifts for your friends can be found at body shops, particularly Bath & Body Works, and THE Body Shop. I, personally, always appreciate candles, but any body care products from Bath & Body Works or the Body Shop are also amazing. ALSO, both of these stores always have sales and promotions going on, so you can save your dollar bills while still getting great little gifts!
The Body Shop always has so many good little gift sets that you can get, and some are even on sale right now! If you want to play it safe with scent, you can always get something from their aloe line. But if you know your girl friend loves scent, then why not go with British Rose?
Well, those are all of my suggestions for some Galentine’s Day gifts! Personally, I really love hanging out with my friends around Valentine’s Day. I usually do a dessert and tea night at my place, which is always a lot of fun!
What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? Will you be celebrating Galentine’s Day with your girl friends?
