Hello everyone! Well I’m through a few of my usual products, and I’ve also made it through some products that I have been working on for a long long time!
Let’s get into it!
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water for Dry and Sensitive Skin
Quick Take. This is a great micellar water that doesn’t feel oily but still helps remove makeup gently. I like to use this after cleansing, just to really make sure that I get off all excess makeup.
Price. $7.99 CAD at London Drugs.
Would I repurchase? Yes, although I unfortunately purchased a slightly different kind because they were out of this one! I will let you know how that one goes.
Pixi Beauty Makeup Fixing Mist
Quick Take. Here’s another monthly appearance by the Pixi Fixing Mist! I really like this setting spray, and use it in conjunction with the Hydrating Milky Mist. While this one has alcohol to lock in your makeup, it doesn’t have so much that it leaves your skin feeling tight. My makeup always looks flawless after using this.
Price. $20 CAD for 2.7 oz.
Would I repurchase? Only over and over.
L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil
Quick Take. This cleansing oil is great for a pre-cleanser. I use this to break up my makeup prior to cleansing. This works really well to make sure that I get all of my makeup off.
Price. $28 CAD for 6.7 oz.
Would I repurchase? Yes and I already have. This works great, and it’s not too expensive. It also lasts a really long time (at least 4-5 months), since I only use one pump every night.
Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic
Quick Take. Another repeater! I have been using this toner now since August, and have repurchased it multiple times, therefore I do really like it. I think adding glycolic acid to your skin care routine is good, as it helps prevent pore blockage. However, you do need to be careful with the percentage of glycolic you use. I had switched to a Neostrata one temporarily, because it was cheaper and had a higher percentage, but it literally ruined my skin, so I went back to Pixi! I use this morning and night after cleansing and micellar water. Read my original review of this product here.
Price. $38 CAD for 250 mL at Shopper’s Drug Mart (only location in Canada that carries Pixi, to my knowledge).
Would I repurchase? Yes, however I am trying a different glycolic acid toner right now. I recently purchased the one by the Ordinary, because it is sooooo much cheaper. So I will keep you updated on how that one works for me! It is 2% stronger so a little bit concerning, but so far so good.
Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap “Black Cherry Merlot”
Quick Take. OMG I need this scent in every single format!! Hand cream, candles, everything!!! This is seriously the best scent that Bath & Body Works has, so if you spot it, get it!!!
Price. $6.50 USD
Would I repurchase? Anything with this scent, yes! I’m not so into the foaming hand soap anymore though because I think it over dries my hands.
Fresh Rose Hydrating Eye Gel Cream
Quick Take. I really like this eye cream! When I first purchased it, I was having a hard time with weird dry flakiness on my eyelids. I now know that it was dryness associated with a bacterial infection from my MAC Paint Pot (which I used as an eye primer). Yeah, that’s right, replace those often!!! Anyways, I needed something intensely hydrating, and this eye cream totally fixed my dry skin. It is definitely gel-like, and feels so moisturizing when you apply it. BUT, the best part is that it sinks in pretty quickly! I will be doing a full review on this eye cream soon, so stay tuned!
Price. $52 CAD for 0.5 oz.
Would I repurchase? I’m working on a new pot right now! The only downfall is that I seem to be going through these relatively fast and they aren’t cheap!
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick “Ravenswood”
Quick Take. Alright, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. This lipstick formula is my holy grail, and that must be true since I’ve finished a whole tube of it!! This is my HG lipstick shade “Ravenswood”, described as a dusty rose with a red undertone.
Price. $22 CAD for 0.11 oz.
Would I repurchase? I have!! Love love love it.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer “Vanilla”
Quick Take. I purchased this concealer over a year ago now. It was initially suggested to me as an under eye concealer, but I really didn’t like it for that. It made my under eyes very dry and crepe-y. So since then I had been using it for spot concealing and cutting the crease on my eye looks. I think this is a great concealer for cutting the crease, because it is both opaque, and not too thick or liquid-y, so it spreads and conceals nicely.
Price. $37 CAD for 0.22 oz.
Would I repurchase? I don’t think so. There are plenty of good concealers out there.
Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores
Quick Take. If you read my recent January Haulage post, you will know that I just purchased the full size of this mask. For a while I wasn’t sure how I felt about this mask. I had been using a deluxe size for months, after I ran out of my hundreds of Glam Glow Clearing Mud treatments that I had been hoarding. I have come to the conclusion that this mask works just fine as compared to the GlamGlow one. It dries down all the way, and helps dry out and stop breakouts. I think this is a great affordable option for a classic charcoal mask.
Price. $34 CAD for 3.4 oz.
Would I repurchase? Yes!
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Quick Take. These are my go to makeup sponges, since my brief affair with Beautyblender. This sponge works just fine for me. It applies my foundation flawlessly, and also applies powder really well too. I like to use the little one for my under eye area!
Price. Varies by retailer. $12-$16 CAD for a 2 pack.
Would I repurchase? Yes!
