🌟🍾January Look Book🍾🌟

Hello everyone! January is finally over! Honestly, this has been a particularly bad month for me personally, so I am really hoping the new year doesn’t keep going this way. Things can only get better right? I just need to get through this rough period.

Although things have been crappy in my life, I have been having a lot of fun with blogging and instagram lately. I hosted my first instagram photo challenge this month, #januarybeautychallenge2018, which was such a great way to start the new year. I also started my new series, Palette Roulette, on the blog! This has been an awesome way to really make me use my palettes! I’m excited for what the future will bring for Palette Roulette!

Anyways, here are some of my favourite photos from January! Let’s focus on the good and forget the bad.

These are a few pictures of my current makeup collection. The beginning of this year was the perfect time to do a Makeup Inventory, so that I can see how things change over the next year. In that post I listed all of the makeup items I own and how much they were all worth. How much do you think my makeup collection is worth? You can check out that post here!

This month I decided to purchase the new Sephora Give Me Some New Lip Kit, which included products from Fenty Beauty, Huda Beauty, TreStiQue, Smashbox and Marc Jacobs. For swatches and my first impressions of each product, you can check out my post here.

Even though the holidays are over, I am still in awe of how beautiful the Becca Après Ski Glow Face Palette is! You can read my review of it here.

This month I started my new series Palette Roulette, and the Tarte Don’t Quit Your Daydream was the first eyeshadow palette that was randomly selected! You can check out the eye looks that I created with this palette and what I thought of it overall here.

After ordering the KL Polish Winter Glamourland boxed set in the middle of December, I finally received it this month! Man, was that a long wait! However, I am so glad to have it now! All of the shades are so beautiful and long-lasting! Would anyone like to see a post on this collection?

Who doesn’t love a peachy pink flat lay? These are definitely some of my favourite products! This picture was for Day 10 of my #januarybeautychallenge2018

Here is one of the looks that I did for the first week of Palette Roulette! Check out that post for the makeup details!

One product that hasn’t gotten a lot of attention since its release is the Tarte Color Splash Lipstick. Well I love LOVE these lipsticks! They have such a great, comfortable matte formula. I just wish that they would expand their shade range! Most of them are on the brown or red side, so I would love some more pinks! You can check out my full review of these lipsticks here.

Never before have you seen me looking so natural! Day 14 of my #januarybeautychallenge2018 was “No Makeup” Makeup. My version of that is basically full beat with less eye makeup. Usually I really don’t like how I look without eyeliner, but this picture turned out well! New Year New Me!

This month I also decided to test out the new Sephora #Lipstories Lipsticks! I purchased one of each finish (matte, cream and metal) and shared my thoughts with all of you! Spoiler: If you haven’t already read that post, I absolutely loved two of the finishes. The best part is that they are only $10 CAD each!! Check out that post here.

Another new purchase of mine this month was the Too Faced White Peach Eye Shadow Palette. While I am totally in love with the packaging and the appearance of the shades in the palette, I am just not sure about performance yet. But don’t worry, I’ll be sharing my thoughts with you this upcoming Monday!

Here is a look that I created with both the Too Faced Peachy Mattes and the White Peach Eye Shadow Palettes. It’s definitely pretty!

Oh look, more KL Polish! When the Lips + Tips set came out in November, I wanted it right away! However, I forced myself to wait. Well my time came this month! This set went on 20% off and I jumped on it! I can’t wait to use them! Again, would you like me to do a post on this?

Here is a look that I created for Week 3 of Palette Roulette, which featured the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eye Shadow Palette. Be sure to check out that post to get the details on how to get this look!

Even though it’s winter, it’s hard to not be dreaming of spring and summer! I love to dream through these peachy palettes!

Some of you may know that at the very beginning of the month I cut my nails down just about as far as they would go. I had been maintaining them at a pretty long length for 5 or more months, and one was breaking per day at the end of December. So it was time to start fresh. Honestly, I do not like short nails, so I couldn’t feature any nice nail pics or nail art until they grew out a bit. Even though they are still a bit short in this pic, I have a pretty cool mani going on, using a brocade/flaky chameleon powder on gel. It flashes pink to green!

Products Used

  1. Gelish Mini Foundation
  2. China Glaze “Liquid Leather”
  3. Chameleon Brocade Powder “C08” from Nail Secret (Vancouver)
  4. Onedor No Wipe Top Coat

In order to start February right, I decided to do some rose floral nail art. This has definitely got me in the Valentine’s Day mood!

Products Used

  1. Orly Bonder Base Coat
  2. China Glaze “White on White”
  3. OPI “It’s Pink P.M.”
  4. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear “Strobe Light”
  5. Finger Paints “Watermelon Watercolor”
  6. China Glaze “Spring in My Step”
  7. China Glaze “Paper Chasing”
  8. Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

Well, that’s it for this month! What looks did you create? What type of looks or nails would you like to see me do during February?? Believe me, there is going to be a lot of pink and red!
