Hey everyone! The challenge for this last week has been Temporary: Show us something you appreciate despite — or even because of — its short shelf life.
I thought that the prompt for this week was absolutely perfect, since I had been planning to dye the underside of my hair Remembrance Day Weekend (this past weekend) for weeks. I received the Clairol Color Crave VoxBox complimentary from Influenster, which had the Clairol Color Crave Hair Makeup in the shade “Brilliant Amethyst” and the Clairol Color Crave Semi-Permanent Hair Color in the shade “Scarlet”. I had already used the hair makeup, which is designed to wash out with a single wash, so it was time to use the semi-permanent dye, which is supposed to last around 15 washes.
If you can believe it, I have never dyed my hair before! I have always liked my hair shade, and it just always seemed unnecessarily expensive when my friends did it. However, for the last couple of years I have been toying with the idea of adding mahogany or violet shades to my hair, so this was the perfect opportunity! I will be doing a full post on these two products this weekend, so stay tuned if you want to hear more!
While this hair colour is temporary, I am very happy with how it turned out. It is subtle, but definitely noticeable in fluorescent and natural lighting. Pictures don’t capture it as well, but you should be able to see a slight difference in tone between the hair at my roots, and my lengths in the picture below. It’s just something a little fun to change things up.
