Hey everyone! Welcome back to Wow! or Waste? Whether a whole collection has been launched, or just a new product, I’m going to evaluate whether each product is either a Wow! buy or a Waste? of money, in terms of the price and the amount of product you get.

I have started this series by evaluating the Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection. In Pt. 1 we looked at the Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette and the Peach Blur Finishing Powder. In Pt. 2 we looked at the Peach Perfect Foundation and the Peach Mist Mattifying Spray. In Pt. 3 we looked at the Primed & Peachy Matte Perfecting Primer and the Peach My Cheeks Blush. In Pt. 4 we looked at the Sweetie Pie Bronzer and the Peach Frost Highlighter. If you want to know the value of these items, please check out those posts!

Price and Quantity

This lipstick is priced at $25 CAD and has 0.14 oz of product. When finding products for comparison, I tried to use matte lipstick lines, or lines that included matte lipsticks. Some products that are good for comparison are the Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick ($23 CAD/0.12 oz), the Tom Ford Lip Color Matte ($70 CAD/0.1 oz), the Bobbi Brown Lipstick ($38 CAD/0.12 oz), the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick ($21 CAD/0.11 oz; read my review of this product here), the Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick ($39 CAD/0.12 oz), the Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick ($22 CAD/0.14 oz), the Pretty Vulgar Bury Them With A Smile Matte Lipstick ($29 CAD/0.1 oz), the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Drench Lip Splash Lipstick ($26 CAD/0.085 oz) and the Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick ($52 CAD/0.14 oz).

Here are the comparisons listed from best deal to worst deal:

Rank Company’s Product Mentioned Above Cost ($ CAD) Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Clinique Soft $22 0.14 $157/oz
2 TF Peach Kiss $25 0.14 $179/oz
3 UD Vice $21 0.11 $191/oz
4 ABH Matte $23 0.12 $192/oz
5 Pretty Vulgar $29 0.1 $290/oz
6 Tarte Lip Splash $26 0.085 $306/oz
7 Bobbi Brown $38 0.12 $317/oz
8 Burberry $39 0.12 $325/oz
9 Pat McGrath $52 0.14 $371/oz
10 Tom Ford $70 0.1 $700/oz

Wow! or Waste? Ranking at number 2, this Peach Kiss lipstick is definitely a Wow! I have actually purchased one of these lipsticks, so make sure that you check back for when I post my review of it. Based on the value though, this is a good lipstick to try if you are a matte lip lover.

Price and Quantity

This bronzer is priced at $38 CAD and has 0.44 oz of product. Same as I mentioned with the cream blush and cream highlighter, depending on the packaging, the amount of product that you get can vary quite a bit, which you will see below in the comparisons. There aren’t a ton of cream bronzers offered at Sephora, so when I ran out of those I chose liquid bronzers. The bronzers I chose for comparison were the Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer ($29 CAD/1 oz), the Trestique Color & Contour Bronzer Stick ($34 CAD/0.21 oz), the RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer ($35 CAD/0.2 oz), the Benefit Dew the Hoola Soft Matte Liquid Bronzer ($38 CAD/0.3 oz), the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops ($52 CAD/0.5 oz), the Nudestix Nudies Bronzer ($33 CAD/0.25 oz), the NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer ($52 CAD/1 oz), the Perricone MD No Bronzer Bronzer ($45 CAD/0.3 oz), and the Benefit Sun Beam Liquid Bronzer ($35 CAD/0.45 oz).

Here are the comparisons listed from best deal to worst deal:

Rank Company’s Product Mentioned Above Cost ($ CAD) Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Milk Makeup $29 1 $29.00
2 Benefit Hoola $38 1 $38.00
3 NARS Liquid $52 1.00 $52.00
4 Benefit Sun $35 0.45 $77.78
5 TF Bronzed Peach $38 0.44 $86.36
6 Cover FX Custom $52 0.5 $104.00
7 Nudestix Nudies $33 0.25 $132.00
8 Perricone MD $45 0.3 $150.00
9 Trestique $34 0.21 $161.90
10 RMS Beauty $35 0.2 $175.00

Wow! or Waste? Ranking at number 5, this product is not quite a Wow!, however 3 out of the 4 products that are ranked higher are actually liquid bronzers. Therefore, liquid bronzers may just be generally less expensive than cream bronzers, I’m not totally sure. If you do not like liquid bronzers, and were to ignore the liquid bronzers in this list, then this cream bronzer would be ranked at number 2. It’s all up to your preference, but this still may be a good bronzer to check out if you are curious about the cream-to-powder finish.

Well that’s all for today’s Wow! or Waste? Were you thinking about purchasing either of these products? Will you go through with it now that you know their value?
