Hey everyone! Welcome back to Wow! or Waste? Whether a whole collection has been launched, or just a new product, I’m going to evaluate whether each product is either a Wow! buy or a Waste? of money, in terms of the price and the amount of product you get.

I have started this series by evaluating the Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection. In Pt. 1 we looked at the Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette and the Peach Blur Finishing Powder. In Pt. 2 we looked at the Peach Perfect Foundation and the Peach Mist Mattifying Spray. If you want to know the value of these items, please check out those posts!

Every day, I am publishing a new post with two more items from this line, so be sure to keep checking back so that you can see whether the item you are interested in is a Wow! or a Waste?

If you want to see whether two more items in the Peaches and Cream Collection are Wow! or Waste? then please keep reading 🙂

Price and Quantity

This primer is priced at $40 CAD and has 1.35 oz of product. When selecting other primers for comparison, I chose those that were advertised as mattifying or pore-filling, which are usually mattifying as well. Mattifying primers that are good for comparison are: Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer ($64 CAD/1.5 oz; view my review of this product), the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – Pore Minimizing ($50 CAD/1 oz), the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($87 CAD/2 oz), the Becca Velvet Blurring Primer – Perfecting Base ($46 CAD/1 oz), the Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer ($45 CAD/1 oz), the Dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer ($75 CAD/1.7 oz), the Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment ($44 CAD/1 oz), the Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer ($40 CAD/1 oz), and the Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer ($38 CAD/1 oz).

Here are the comparisons listed from best deal to worst deal:

Rank Company’s Product Mentioned Above Cost ($ CAD) Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 TF Primed Peachy $40 1.35 $29.63/oz
2 UD Optical $38 1 $38.00/oz
3 Tarte Poreless $40 1 $40.00/oz
4 Benefit POREfessional $64 1.5 $42.67/oz
5 Hourglass $87 2 $43.50/oz
6 Cover FX $44 1 $44.00/oz
7 Dr. Brandt $75 1.7 $44.12/oz
8 MUFE $45 1 $45.00/oz
9 Becca Velvet $46 1 $46.00/oz
10 Smashbox $50 1 $50.00/oz

Wow! or Waste? This is definitely a Wow! product, ranking at number 1! This product has the best value by a long shot! If you are looking for a new mattifying primer, I would seriously consider looking into this one, especially if it can live up to its claim of “12 hours of shine control”. My nose literally gets shiny in only an hour, so something that can control shine for a long time would be amazing!

ALSO, there is a deluxe sample of this primer on its way to me right now in the mail, so you can expect a full review of this product in the near future! Potentially next week. So stay tuned for that!

Price and Quantity

This blush is priced at $38 CAD and has 0.44 oz of product. Blushes that are of a creamy consistency are packaged in a variety of ways, the most common of which are pots and sticks. Depending on the packaging, the amount of product that you get can vary quite a bit, which you will see below in the comparisons. Additionally, products that are marketed as having multiple uses, like multi-sticks, seem to be priced higher, possibly because of the convenience that they are supposed to provide. There are not a whole lot of cream blushes available at Sephora, so this product is relatively unique, especially since it is supposed to have a cream-to-powder finish. When I ran out of cream blush examples, I used a few liquid blushes. The products that I chose for the comparisons were the Tom Ford Cream Cheek Color ($83 CAD/0.17 oz), the NARS The Multiple ($49 CAD/0.5 oz), the Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek ($29 CAD/1 oz), the Tarte Cheek Stain ($36 CAD/0.5 oz), the RMS Beauty Lip2cheek ($45 CAD/0.17 oz), the Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color ($36 CAD/0.17 oz), the Josie Maran Argan Color Stick ($26 CAD/0.55 oz), the NARS Liquid Blush ($38 CAD/0.5 oz), and the Benefit Gogotint Cheek & Lip Stain ($40 CAD/0.33 oz).

Here are the comparisons listed from best deal to worst deal:

Rank Company’s Product Mentioned Above Cost ($ CAD) Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Milk Makeup $29 1 $29/oz
2 Josie Maran $26 1 $47/oz
3 Tarte Cheek Stain $36 0.5 $72/oz
4 Nars Liquid $38 0.5 $76/oz
5 TF Peach $38 0.44 $86/oz
6 NARS Multiple $49 0.5 $98/oz
7 Benefit Gogotint $40 0.33 $121/oz
8 Smashbox $36 0.17 $212/oz
9 RMS Lip2cheek $45 0.17 $265/oz
10 Tom Ford $83 0.17 $488/oz

Wow! or Waste? This product is not really a Wow!, but again not a total Waste? at rank 5. It doesn’t have great value, and there are lots of other options out there for you if you don’t want to use a powder product. However, like I mentioned before, this product is slightly unique, in that it has the cream-to-powder formula, so if that draws you in, go for it anyways!

Well that’s all for today’s Wow! or Waste? Were you thinking about purchasing either of these products? Will you go through with it now that you know their value?
