Wow! or Waste? Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection Pt. 2

Screen Shot 2017-09-05 at 9.16.57 PM

Hey everyone! If you read yesterday’s post, you will know that I have started a new series, Wow! or Waste? Whether a whole collection has been launched, or just a new product, I’m going to evaluate whether each product is either a Wow! buy or a Waste? of money, in terms of the price and the amount of product you get.

In yesterday’s post I started my evaluation of the new Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection, by focusing on the Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette and the Peach Blur Finishing Powder. If you haven’t already read that post, please check it out! Because there are so many products in this new line, I have broken the collection up into instalments, so today is part 2!

Every day, I will publish a new post with two more items from this line, so be sure to keep checking back so that you can see whether the item you are interested in is a Wow! or a Waste?

If you want to see whether two more items in the Peaches and Cream Collection are Wow! or Waste? then please keep reading 🙂

Price and Quantity

This foundation is priced at $45 for 1 oz, and there are 12 shades in the line. For comparison, I tried to choose matte foundations. I have also included how many shades are in each line just as an FYI. A comparison among foundations isn’t totally necessary since almost all foundations sold have a standardized quantity of 1 oz. However, it still may be helpful for you to see them all compared in one place. Some popular foundations at Sephora that we can compare to are: the Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Matte Foundation ($48 CAD/1 oz/16 shades), the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation ($55 CAD/1 oz/18 shades), the Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation ($42 CAD/1 oz/30 shades), the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation ($59 CAD/1 oz/24 shades), the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation ($49 CAD/1 oz/24 shades), the Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation ($50 CAD/1 oz/22 shades), the YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation ($65/0.84 oz/16 shades), the Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Mattifying Foundation ($49 CAD/1.01 oz/18 shades), and the Dior Diorskin Forever Perfect Foundation ($64 CAD/1 oz/24 shades).

Here are the comparisons listed from best deal to worst deal:

Rank Company’s Product Mentioned Above Cost ($ CAD) Quantity (oz) Number of Shades Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 Kat Von D $42 1 30 $42/oz
2 TF Peach Perfect $45 1 12 $45/oz
3 Milk Makeup $48 1 16 $48/oz
4 MUFE Mat $49 1.01 18 $49/oz
5 UD All Nighter $49 1 24 $49/oz
6 Smashbox $50 1 22 $50/oz
7 Lancome Teint $55 1 18 $55/oz
8 Laura Mercier $59 1 20 $59/oz
9 Dior Diorskin $64 1 24 $64/oz
10 YSL All Hours $65 0.84 16 $77/oz

Wow! or Waste? At a rank of 2, looks like this foundation is a Wow! Although there are only 12 shades in this line, hopefully you can find one that works for you, since this foundation seems to be a great deal!

Product Information

✔ Offers up to 12 hours of shine control
✔ Lasts up to 16 hours
✔ Smells like peaches and sweet fig cream

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates”

Price and Quantity

This setting spray is priced at $40 and has 4 oz of product. Most setting sprays seem to be standardized at 4 oz, however there are some variations from that. For the setting spray comparisons, I tried to make sure that I used sprays that were obviously for setting your makeup and keeping it matte. However, I have also included some non-matte setting sprays. For comparison I used the following products: the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($39 CAD/4 oz), the Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix Setting Spray ($37 CAD/4.22 oz), the Cover FX Mattifying Setting Spray ($39 CAD/4 oz), the Kat Von D Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist ($36 CAD/4 oz), the Boscia White Charcoal Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray ($50 CAD/ 5.07 oz), the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ($58 CAD/ 1.35 oz), the Bobbi Brown Face Mist ($39 CAD/3.4 oz), the Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray ($40 CAD/4 oz), and the Marc Jacobs Re(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist ($53 CAD/ 3.8 oz).

Here are the comparisons listed from best deal to worst deal:

Rank Company’s Product Mentioned Above Cost ($ CAD) Quantity (oz) Cost-Quantity Ratio for 1 oz of product
1 MUFE Mist & Fix $37 4.22 $8.77/oz
2 Kat Von D Lock-It $36 $4 $9.00/oz
3 Cover FX Mattifying $39 4 $9.75/oz
3 UD All Nighter $39 4 $9.75/oz
4 Boscia White $50 5.07 $9.86/oz
5 TF Peach Mist $40 4 $10.00/oz
5 TF Hangover $40 4 $10.00/oz
6 Bobbi Brown $39 3.4 $11.47/oz
7 Marc Jacobs $53 3.8 $13.95/oz
8 Tatcha Luminous $58 1.32 $43.94/oz

Wow! or Waste? It looks like we have a tie for 5th place for this setting spray, therefore it is not a Wow! Not quite a Waste?, but nothing special in terms of value. If you are interested in this product, do some further research to make sure that it is really worth it. This product has pretty huge claims (12 hours of shine control!?) so looking at some reviews might be really helpful!

Well that’s all for today’s Wow! or Waste? Were you thinking about purchasing either of these products? Will you go through with it now that you know their value?
